Racing heart, breathlessness

Im 33 weeks today and am having problems , particularly in the morning, with a racing heart and breathless feeling. I do have low blood pressure which makes me feel a bit weak in the mornings, but was wondering if anyone else has the same problem?

I mentioned it to my midwife at my last check up (two weeks ago) and she said palpatations in pregnancy arent normal and to phone them if it happens again . but then dr google has told me they are normal .

just wondering if anyone has any experience ?

TIA

Hi Daisy. I had the same thing. I found the breathlessness very scary - particularly when out and about with my toddler as I always thought I was going to faint. Like you, I have low blood pressure but the doctor told me it was due to low iron. Perhaps you could get your iron levels checked?

I feel like this sometimes (29w).
Have you taken your pulse when it feels like its racing? I've been sure my heart rate is really high, but when I take it its actually under 80bpm

The breathless thing is pretty normal I think as there's less space for your lungs. I know how you feel though!

Any chance you could be a little anaemic? Low iron can cause palpitations....

i had bloods taken recently enough and i think my iron is ok.

i know its probably a common enough occurence, but it feels so awful

I had this whilst pregnant with no2 and it was truly alarming at times. Go and see your gp and get it checked out. It's probably nothing, but worth a visit anyway to out your mind at rest.

Please get this checked. Do you have any other symptoms such as a cough or swelling of your feet/ankles?
