I have no idea how many I need to get. We are having a crib to start with and then a cot in the nursery. What do I need and how many of each?

Thanks-first baby and completely clueless on this!

Congratulations!

We got 4 fitted sheets for each - but a top tip that someone gave to me, was to put a muslin over the top of the crib sheet whilst they're little, so any dribbles/spit-up goes on that, and you don't end up changing the sheets every day.

Blankets - at night we use a sleeping bag, of which we have 2. I would think you only need 2 or 3 blankets extra for in the day, or as extras on very cold nights.

congrats Haribolover im getting 6 of each mothercare do a deal 3for 2 on baby bedding sheets so works out cheaper Smile

I think at least three of each size, we also bought two waterproof mattress covers for the cot which meant if poo explosion or v sick it was contained and replaced, john Lewis do good ones which don't feel at all plastic on the top.

I used a swaddle blanket to start with and then moved to sleeping bags so didnt really use blankets as covers.

Two bottom sheets for each - I did the muslin trick too.

For the first four / five months I used these swaddling sheets and then got a Grobag for the big cot.

I never used sheets and blankets over the top, though I had a couple.of bice balnkets for the pram.

... As for blankets depends on if you plan to use sleeping bags when they are a bit older, think you will need a couple of blankets for crib I think early days and maybe one or two more for out and about (in pram etc) but if you are going to move onto sleeping bags I wouldn't go mad with cot sized blankets, maybe just one?

What bigpiglittlepig said with the addition of 2 swaddle blankets in 1st 3-4 months. Princesscupcakemummyb I have also done the 342 but 6 fitted sheets is a bit much, I've got 2 packs of each fitted sheet then for the 3rd items got nice blankets instead. Up to you though obviously. x

I just bought 4 fitted sheets in asda for £10 in their baby week. I was then thinking of getting 4 flat sheets and 4 blankets. I will use the sleeping bags as well though. Also was planning on doing the muslin trick Smile
