Is it weight gain or a bump?

Hi I found out I am pregnant yesterday and my boyfriend noticed some weight gain for the last couple of weeks. My breasts have ballooned to twice the size and my belly looks fuller is this normal weight gain during pregnancy or is it a baby bump?

Hi there and congrats!

It'll prob be water retention and bloating rather than a baby bump or actual weight gain

How pregnant are you? If only 4 weeks then the baby is tucked behind your pubic bone. It only moves up at around 14 weeks I think. Most people I know haven't really shown until about 20 weeks.

alot of its bloating and water retention in the early weeks i looked quite pregnant at 7 weeks but now at 30 wks have a smallish round bump congrats

I think I am around 6 weeks but am still waiting to go to the doctor to confirm. My breasts are growing by the day and I feel that my tummy is growing by the day. So you think it will be about another 6 weeks or so before there will be an obvious bump?

Even by 12 weeks with your first it won't be an obvious bump when you're fully dressed - around 20 weeks for people to be able to tell you're pregnant not just chubby :)

I started to get a proper bump at about 18 weeks - the baby is well hidden down in your pelvis for a long time

Congratulations on your BFP Op. I am pregnant with my first too and I suffered from bloating/wind and water retention (not so much water retention for me) which made my belly stick out right up until about 14 weeks. I didn't actually start getting a proper baby bump until I was about 19 weeks pregnant (currently 21+5) even though secretly I was dying for the baby bump to turn up The bloating/wind bump is definitely different to the baby bump in they way it looks/feels. Most of the ladies I have spoken to didn't start getting their baby bumps until after 16 weeks with their first child. Apparently you show quicker with your second/third ect.
