Feeling knackered, achy and sorry for myself. So sorry to whinge but is anyone else reaching, at or over their due date and finding it hard to stay sane? I've been home bound today and literally can't be bothered to do anything. Whinge, whinge.... x

:( I'm feeling exactly the same, I'm 40+1 today, officially over due... Had such a strop today, been trying to keep myself busy. This is like a roller coaster of emotion, I've had two sweeps and nothing sob sob. Worst thing is that everyone is phoning asking where the baby is.... Frustrating!

I suppose we just have to remember that our babies will be here soon... Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Good luck :)

MeanMrsMustard · 24/08/2013 17:30

I'm due on Tuesday. Fully expecting to go over due but mighty fed up too.
I've just had a nap and now need to find something to keep me occupied! I'm fast running out of energy so lacking 'easy' things to keep me sane. Reading sends me to sleep after 10 mins at the moment. I wish I was good at crafts! I might send of for a beginners sewing kit or something as potentially I've got another 2 weeks going stir-crazy!

Queazy · 24/08/2013 17:41

I know - I can't bear the thought of another two weeks. I'm not sleeping at all so really overtired and grumpy :( At least we know its going to happen in the next couple of weeks, and compared to 40wks, that's no time at all Smile Just finding I'm getting bored - too bored to even read!! Good luck to you guys too xx

2 weeks here too.... Getting bored too. Can cope with another week or two but will start counting sheep then.

islingtongirl · 24/08/2013 18:02

Im due today too! Trying not to get too frustrated...but also v bored and torrential rain not helping. Please not another 2 weeks! Well at least we can keep each other company Smile

knittingirl · 24/08/2013 18:41

I'm with you, due today and fed up, just want my baby!

MeanMrsMustard · 24/08/2013 19:11

Islingtongirl - I think we are both at the same hospital. Maybe our paths will cross in the post labor ward quite soon?!

Tonight's entertainment is a jigsaw I won in a raffle a few years ago. It's been at the back of a cupboard since then but today it is my project as I can't face watching any more telly!

Boosiehs · 24/08/2013 19:18

Sooooooo bored!!!

40+2 today and feeeeeling so tired. Another islington baby here. Booked in to see the docs on Weds for sweep and scan. Kind of just want to get the baby out now!!

islingtongirl · 24/08/2013 22:08

Uclh mrsmustard? Yes may see you there - hopefully soon! Bit more BH tonight but not much else happening...sigh Hmm

Boosiehs · 24/08/2013 23:39

Me too. We need a UCH mumsnet code!

More cramping tonight. Nothing I'd describe as painful, just uncomfortable.

How are the rest of you feeling?

islingtongirl · 25/08/2013 00:54

Waters broke at 11pm! Hideous contractions already started, been in to UCH and at home now until they get too much to bear. Induction monday morning if no progress by then, but seeing as they are coming every 5 mins at the mo I am not sure I will make it - quite scared that this is actually happening now!

knittingirl · 25/08/2013 08:22

Ooh good luck!

MeanMrsMustard · 25/08/2013 08:50

Wow! How exciting! You've probably already gone back in by now so hope everything went well and smoothly. Yay!

(The threat of meeting me in hospital was obviously too horrible so baby wanted out! With this in mind, I extend the same threat to you too Boosiehs!)

Well, nothing here, but I am only 39+5 so still early days. Im getting lots of Brixton hicks and baby pushing down causing random pains, especially in the evenings, but that's the extent of it.
I'm sleeping ok-ish. Takes a long time to get to sleep - always trying to get comfy (impossible!), constant need to wee, and very itchy at night too. however when I finally do get to sleep I'm managing to last ok so I can't complain that much.

Boosiehs - can I ask about your scan and sweep? Did you book the appointment some time ago as a precaution? After my 36 week appointment the midwife asked me to book 38 weeks, 40 weeks and 41 weeks but I assumed they were all midwife appointments until I looked the other day and noticed the 41 week one is booked for a scan. Would it be a sweep too or did you book that bit seperatly? I should really have more idea about what I'm booked in for! I'm seeing the midwife on Wednesday so can check then.

Well good luck ladies. Both on the boredom front and the speedy onset of labor too. Lets hope islingtongirl is just the start of bank holiday births!

Boosiehs · 25/08/2013 10:19

Woooo! Islington girl I hope you are happily holding your baby by now!!

I woke up with cracking backache but no othr symptoms. Mrsmustard, I hope your threats work! I've even itchy too, mostly on the bump which I've attributed to the network of stretch marks which have appeared. V annoying!

At my last hospital appointment the booked me in for a 41 week appt, where we get a scan and I think, from reading the leaflet, a sweep. It's at the maternal and fetal assessment unit, not the normal midwife bit. They should ave given you a letter about the overdue pregnancy clinic. :)

Queazy · 25/08/2013 10:38

Oh wow - so pleased its happening for you islingtongirl - hope you have a baby in your arms very soon Smile

No signs for me, and sweep not scheduled until Friday when I'm 40w 6d. I might not have one, but would then be booked in for induction the following Weds. I had really been hoping to give birth on a midwife led unit, which I can't do if induced, but know I need to focus on just having the baby!!

The rain is clearing today and feel better hearing that you guys are getting closer to natural labour (maybe I will too?! Fingers crossed!). I went to the cinema last night and going to keep myself busy today. Yesterday was such an anti climax and I was SO moody...hard to shake it off Smile xx

I'm due on Tuesday too - although my due date was moved from the 30th August so I'm expecting to be pregnant until Thursday or Friday! This is my third baby (last labour only three hours from first twinge to delivery) so I am stuck at home with 2 dc, hardly daring to go anywhere with them just in case things stag happening at speed! Suffice it to say all three of us are bored and fed up now - distinct lack of planning having a baby at the end of the summer hols.

I've got some period pains today and backs a bit achey. I'm baking a cake to devour and then I'm planning a bit of a walk later since dh is about to rescue me if things start happening.

Islingtongirl - best of luck! You're nearly there!

MeanMrsMustard · 25/08/2013 18:55

Boosiehs - it just says 'post date scans' on my letter. I'll check with the midwife on Wednesday and ask for the leaflet.

Well, today has been better than yesterday. I actually got out of the house for a walk (well stroll) and a pub lunch. Oh, and I've finished my jigsaw already. Need a new project! I'm still feeling restless and bored though. Please don't come too late baby!

batfuttocks · 25/08/2013 19:14

I've had a good walk today and a bounce on the trampoline! Lost some mucus plug earlier today so hopeful things are getting ready for the main event. It's not so much that I am ready for labour (or the sleepless nights!) but I know they are coming soon enough so I may as well get on with things! Smile

Meanmrs you're due Tuesday too? Any reason you're being offered a post dates scan? I have not had anything like this suggested as yet.

MeanMrsMustard · 25/08/2013 19:50

Yup, im due on Tuesday too, but like you think the actual die date is a few days after that. and i fully expect baby to be late.
I have no idea about the scan! I was told to block book some appointments after my 36 week checkup and this was the final one. I think the midwife was just being efficient! Is it normal to have a scan once your overdue?

batfuttocks · 25/08/2013 20:37

I think so but not until over 42 weeks if you decline induction. Baby was disturbingly quiet today but is now bouncing around a fair bit.

I am so ready for this and so NOT ready, all at the same time!

islingtongirl · 26/08/2013 06:40

Thank you all! Had my baby girl yesterday afternoon - exhausted but all fine, midwives at hospital were lovely. Hope it all happens soon for you ladies - its worth the wait! Smile

MeanMrsMustard · 26/08/2013 08:21

Aw, congratulations Islingtongirl and baby! I hope they let you out very soon. Can't wait for my turn.

And by the way, presumably you live in a CPZ? I only just found out that you can send off a copy of the birth certificate to Islington council and they give you 40 hrs of free visitor parking vouchers. Details on the parking permit bit of their website. Maybe this is common knowledge but I just stumbled across it. (Seems like they just hand them over if birth is registered in islington, but as we will be in Camden we have to do a little leg work). Anyway may be no help whatsoever, but a freebie is a freebie.

Who is going to be next then?

knittingirl · 26/08/2013 13:06

Congratulations!

Still waiting here, hopefully won't be too many more days!

Boosiehs · 26/08/2013 13:28

Congratulations Islingtongirl!!!

I'm still waiting, but cramping gettin stronger. We shall see.....

batfuttocks · 26/08/2013 15:11

Still waiting here too....

Congratulations islington girl!
