How quickly after falling pg did your stomach start to swell?

I am hoping and praying I am not pg but there is a slim chance.
My stomach is so bloated, far more than usual. Am due on in a week.

At 6 wks with DS2 I felt huge and bloated and my waist had already disappeared. (I am normally size 10, if that makes any difference!)

Sorry, not the answer you were hoping for?

LadySherlockofLGJ · 16/06/2006 20:39

It may be just fluid retention with the recent hot weather, are your rings tight ?

Blossomhill · 16/06/2006 20:41

I am size 12 and slim everywhere but my stomach

Rings are not tight lgj :(

I can start to get bloated from about a week before I am due on BH so maybe it's just that.

Have to say all I really wanted to post then was Shock Shock Shock

coppertop · 16/06/2006 21:21

The earliest I began to show was at about 7 or 8 weeks with dd. Definitely not before AF was even due.

BH :( Could it be some weird stress-related thing? IIRC you've had even more than usual to deal with just lately.

Blossomhill · 16/06/2006 21:29

nutty and ct - a baby would be the absolute worst thing for me right now.

I can hardly cope as it is :(

I doubt very much that you'd be showing a week before your period was due BH.

With Ds I started showing at about 6 weeks I think but def not before.

coppertop · 16/06/2006 21:40

I don't want to get your hopes up too much but I think Nutty's probably right about the pre-AF bloating. It's something that I sometimes get too. I've also had pregnancy scares where my stomach suddenly seems to have a high firm bump but it's just a false alarm. I vaguely remember another MN'er starting a thread about something similar.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you, BH.xx You don't need this extra worry right now.

GDG · 16/06/2006 21:44

BH, I agree with nutty. I'm due on in about 5 days and my stomach has been really round for about 5 days now. I actually look pregnant and I'm a slim size 8-10 everywhere else. I'm deffo not pg as dh has had the snip! I often get this but not 100% of the time - it's been really annoying me all week actually, ruining the look of all my outfits Grin

Fingers crossed it's just pre-AF bloating x

GDG · 16/06/2006 21:45

I started to show v. early with all 3 pregnancies - but I'm talking 8 weeks-ish, not the week before I was due.

Blossomhill · 16/06/2006 21:46

Thanks nutty, GDG and ct. I couldn't handle a 7 year age gap. Just getting my life to where I want it. Sounds selfish I know.

With my first it was around 10 weeks but with dd2 I found out at 4 weeks and was in maternity jeans by 6 weeks. By 10 weeks the mw sent me for an emergency scan as I was so big she thought I was having 2 or more, thankfully just the one little bugger popped out.

Blossomhill · 16/06/2006 21:47

It's been 7 years since I was pg so I have pratically forgotten it all (except the birth of course Wink

OP posts:
GDG · 16/06/2006 21:48

So what if it is selfish anyway? We all have to put ourselves first sometimes. I'd be devastated if I got pg again now aswell - mine are 5, 3 and 1 and I could not cope with another. I've not got all your difficulties but I know how scary the prospect of another baby is. I bet you'll be fine love.

Blossomhill · 16/06/2006 21:50

Aww thanks GDG xxx

OP posts:
coppertop · 16/06/2006 21:55

You're not being selfish, BH. There's only a 3yr age gap between each of mine and it was still tough going back to the baby stage each time. Only you know what you can cope with.

GDG · 16/06/2006 21:55
Smile

You'll be cursing next week when it arrives and you feel like crap!!

Blossomhill · 17/06/2006 14:31

ct - that's the thing ct I wcouldn't cope and it's not fair on ds and dd.

GDG - I so hope you are right.

Not sure if this is all in my mind but feel sick today Shock

I always get bloated pre period and sometimes do look pg (am relatively slim but weight always shows on my tummy first). Agree that it is not necessarily a good indicator of pg. Even with my 'full' tummy I didn't start to bloat properly till 6 or 7 weeks.

peachyClair · 17/06/2006 15:01

BH reckon it is water at this stage, heat will do that. Really unlikely that you'd be showing- what would there be TO show?

Sympathies. Thought I was pg last week too coz of water retentiion / nausea / diziness, turned out to be a virus. I WOULD welcome another baby but totally understand where you are coming from- would like another, not sure how wise it would be until Sam a buit more sorted.

Hope its all OK, sure it will be - well hope so

Blossomhill · 17/06/2006 15:05

pc - do you know what pc you have hit the nail on the head. I can just about cope with dd. Have been told that I have 50% chance of it happening again so worries the hell out of me :(
I feel bad on dd saying that as I love her loads and it makes me feel disloyal.

OP posts:
peachyClair · 17/06/2006 15:09

I wuldn't panic too much - I ahd got to the point where I was actually liking the idea (stupid cow!" sam, two other kids, a degree underway, tiny car...) and ended up feeling disappointed! PMSL! But I would like another one when Sam can cope, which I think will happen one day. But I don't want to go into the whole statementingt hing / Uni / etc plus a new baby at the same time. Can you iamgine? LOL

Blossomhill · 17/06/2006 15:18

Same here pc, have a 3 bed house and a vauxhall astra. Would have to buy new of both and we just couldn't do it.
I am enjoying my freedom and the thought of going back to baby phase makes me shudder.
Had a lovely lie in this morning (10am) and I love my sleep way too much!
