I'm 30 weeks pregnant and we are moving this weekend, only into a 1 bed flat so no nursery as yet. We plan to have moved somewhere bigger by the time baby is a year old.

Our bedroom is very large so we will set up a "baby corner" with her Moses basket, changing unit and area etc.

When should we think about getting this all set up and ready?

We have everything we need but currently its being stored at my mums and she will bring it all to us once we have moved.

We put the moses basket out early (32 weeks), as we have cats so wanted to get them used to it and learn not to go in it.

Dds drawers, cot and shelves were up around the same time too. IT helped me to have stuff unpacked and ready so I could see what we had / still needed. Thats not to say I didnt rearrange a few times.

I had my bag packed about 30/32 weeks too, just incase.

Thankyou, I imagine i shall probably get it all set up about 32 weeks too.

I have my bag almost packed, just need to do one more shopping trip for a few bits.

I'm never normally this organised!!

hi Smile i got my husband to build the crib at 25 weeks as i wanted to make sure it was complete and not damaged at all would have been a nightmare to find damage or missing parts or something to late so the crib is sat in the bedroom up already lol im now 30 weeks the moses basket is still packaged up and sealed thats going to be stripped down to be washed in the next few weeks and then il leave it up so quite early i guess Grin

A good tip, after you have packed your bag, is to unpack it and let your OH pack it as he will be doig most of the fetching and carrying labour.

I am 38 weeks and have all ready.. I would have had it ready earlier only the room needed a fresh coat of paint. Haven't brought theram home yet though.

mortified that does seem a good idea but if I unpacked it, dp would never get round to packing it again!

Half way through my home birth I suggested it might be a good idea fir DH to put the crib together.

Hence me and the midwife got to sit in the living room watching him build it.

Actually putting it up stairs didnt happen until DD was six hours old and our bedroom had been rearranged to get it to fit.

Ok this was planned, as it was normally arranged it was much easier for MWs to work, but would have had crib right by a large radiator.
