Am now 36+2 and since yesterday feel so much pressure, pelvic pain and need to wee its untrue. Can't sleep or walk..

Saw MW today and she had a feel and thinks the baby is 3/5 engaged (2nd baby) and that is why.

Have a toddler to attend to so no real peace - did anyone else get an early birth after being 3/5 engaged at 36 weeks?

I am engaged with my first but mw said it could still be weeks! Think they can pop in and out a bit more with subsequent births?

I am 36w too

40+4. 2/5th engaged, 2-3cm dilated. No contractions or any other signs of labour. All second baby...

Also, not all.

DS1 was 3/5 engaged at 38w.
He was still 3/5 engaged at 41w, after 36 hours of labour, and thus made his exit through the sunroof.

I'm afraid labour and birth are unpredictable! You could be not at all engaged/dilated at your due date and give birth 5 hours later. It you could be engaged and starting to dilate and still waiting for your baby two weeks past your EDD...

None of mine engaged at all until fully established labour. DC3 was still "bobbing" in the 10 minutes before he was born.

I'm 36 weeks and midwife said today the little one is 3/5 engaged. But also it could still be weeks. First baby. Feeling in denial that I'm going to give birth soon, suppose I've no idea what's about to come! Smile
