Does the baby out any signs when he/she's ready?

I'm currently 38+ with DC1, and curious to hear from anyone about whether or not you experienced any other signs, apart from the obvious (mucousy show, waters, contractions, etc), just before you went into labour? Did baby move more? Did you feel baby turning?

Humour me, I'm on mat leave and just waiting for the day now

No, nothing until my waters went. Any single twinge I had I kept thinking "ooh, is this it?" but it never was
