Missed miscarriage at 8 weeks

Hi,
Yesterday I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage . I should have been 8 weeks but the baby stopped growing at just under 5 weeks. I opted for the medical approach and began to miscarry last night. I just wondered how long this bit lasts for? At the hospital they said I could bleed for up to six weeks , but I just wondered how long the heavy bleed goes on for. I am passing large clots but no sac/baby as yet.

Hi Op

I am really sorry for your loss. [Flowers] It's devastating mc. I mc at 7 weeks and the heavy bleeding lasted about a week. I passed the sack on day 3. I had stopped bleeding within two weeks.

There is a really supportive and helpful thread on mumsnet for women going through a mc which you may find of help. The ladies on there really helped me through the different stages of grief you go through when you mc. They also had lots of information about what to expect now and in the next few weeks. I have put the link to the threads below in case you want to have a look.

Hi there,

Also so sorry for your loss. The miscarriage ladies kept me a lot saner than I would have been during this, especially the thread about practical tips for miscarriage, which helped prepare me for what was to come. Sending all love your way.

x
