I'm 8+1 pg with my first baby. Just been given my first appointment with my midwife. What should I expect?

Loads of questions about past health, family etc, you'll be weighed and bloods taken.

She may book you in for the 12 week scan or that might be posted out.

Hello! I had my first appointment last week, she didnt take bloods or book me in for the scan, she said my details will go to the hospital and it will all be done at the 12 week scan... I think different trusts do things differently though as my friend has her midwife come to her house and take blood at her first appointment.

She did ask lots of questions about mine and hubbys health, family illnesses and also weighed me and measured my height. We were there around 1 hour. I will get a letter from the hospital for my appointment.

Sorry I meant 12 week scan appointment

Mine went through my medical history and family history, took bloods, sent the form off to hospital for my scan and tested my urine. My scan letter came in the post a few days later Smile

I did check with her whether dh would need to be there, if a urine sample would be useful but she said she's going to give me some paperwork to take away and fill in at home. I'm
meeting her at my local children's centre so I'm assuming she won't take bloods etc and that'll be left until my first scan appt at the hospital? I know I can't get a specific answer as all trusts are different which is frustrating! Hmm
