Exactly how the heading sounds...

I'm 10 + 3 and a larger lady but despite my extra chunk, I'm quite in proportion...huge boobs, gooey but not hugely rounded tum, chunky thighs. This is my first pregnancy. I'm curious to know when I can expect firstly to feel something there, then when I can expect to be outwardly showing...

I'm chubby and 11+3 just now. Not showing yet. Sad

Xmasbaby11 · 19/08/2013 20:16

with my first pregnancy, I started showing at about 20 weeks. I am on the large side too.

This time I am 17 weeks and not showing yet, so I think it will be similar.

What I did find amusing was that the bump seemed to come from nowhere, from nothing overnight it was suddenly there. I loved it!

Jolleigh · 19/08/2013 20:17

HotCrossPun...is this your first too?

Xmasbaby - that seems ages away! Only showing at my half way scan Shock It needs to feel more real.

Im 17 weeks & really started to show this week.

The thing that makes me laugh is people keep saying, 'Oh i thought you were putting on a bit of weight!' Im a size 8 & 5'2 & feel very curvy at the moment...

DaleyBump · 19/08/2013 20:28

Agree with halfwayish. Now 25+2 and people now ask me about the baby in public quite a lot and it's really quite obvious :) I was a size 14 before I became pregnant.

Jolleigh · 19/08/2013 20:33

Sad can anyone tell I'm bump-hungry??

onlysettleforbutterflies · 19/08/2013 20:33

I used to be quite slim and didn't show until 28 weeks, just looked like I had put a bit of weight on until then. Was quite upsetting tho as everyone used to say the baby mustn't be growing properly, why aren't I eating etc. Midwife even sent me for extra growth scans. All was well tho and he was nearly 8lb at birth, despite being told he would be less than 6lb!

HotCrossPun · 19/08/2013 20:39

Yep joll tis my first. Are you on the March 2014 antenatal thread?

DaleyBump · 19/08/2013 20:40

It's fun at first but it soon gets old. I can't bend in the middle or get up off my couch without going "HNNNG" quite loudly, and I totally can't wait to sleep on my stomach again. And sex so isn't the same with a huge wriggley bump between you. Although I was desperate for a bump too, I wish someone had told me to enjoy being able to see my fanjo while I still could. :)

Jolleigh · 19/08/2013 20:45

HotCrossPun - I'm only just starting to navigate the site really so didn't even know that thread existed. I've been spending too much time rubbing people up the wrong way on the Am I Being Unreasonable threads lol. I'll definitely head there now though!

Daley - I definitely get where you're coming from but have a suspicion that staring at my vajayjay might be a past time that's a bit odd to try to catch up on before it becomes obscured Wink I'm definitely dreading not being able to sleep on my stomach though. I can't remember a single night in my life that I didn't spend on my stomach!

I'll link to it for you. Just come along and introduce yourself, there is loads of us expecting in March '14.

We also have a secret FB group you can join where the members have posted scan pictures/bump pictures etc. Grin

ch1134 · 20/08/2013 10:04

just like Shellywelly. This is my first, I'm size 8-10 and 5'3" and 17 weeks. This week it's just popped out! No hiding it now! But that doesn't help you as you sound a very different body shape.

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 20/08/2013 10:10

I was about 18 weeks and then suddenly there was a massive bump. just woke up one morning and there it was haha!
I hate not being able to sleep on my tummy though. it's so uncomfortable on my side Sad

BunInMyOven93 · 20/08/2013 10:15

Im a size 16/18 before pregnant. Started showin around 20 weeks. Xx

LittlePeaPod · 20/08/2013 10:28

I am a size 8-10, 5"4 and I am 20+5 and I started showing at about 19 weeks and like someone said up thread ithappened overnight....

Goldenhandshake · 20/08/2013 10:48

First pregnancy I was a size 12, 5"2 and have wide hips, big boobs and a smaller waist, I started showing around 25 weeks, but my bump was very small, no one in work knew (other than managers etc) until I was around 32 weeks, I just looked a bit podgy to them I think as I didn't wear anything that clung to my bump.

This time I am a 12-14 and have suffered very badly with bloating and digestion problems so far, so it probably looks like I am showing but its not a bump its just air! On a good day when the bloating has eased I just look normal, I'm 8 weeks today and have lost a couple of pounds since I got my BFP.

Lovemyprincess4eva · 20/08/2013 10:56

I was a size 16 prior to pregnancy and my bump popped out at around 18 weeks and now at 26 weeks there is no hiding it!! People openly ask me about baby and I can't bend over anymore as bump gets in the way lol x

Kelly1814 · 20/08/2013 11:14

28 or 29 weeks....i'm quite tall so it had space to hide!

now 33 weeks and some people still haven't noticed!

Fozziebearmum2be · 20/08/2013 11:38

I had to wear maternity pants from 11 weeks! I was really slim before (now about to pop!) so had to do the hair band trick with my jeans from about week 6.

Was really bloated....and have a bump resembling a tenpin bowling ball now...

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 20/08/2013 12:46

I'm 20+3 today, and I wouldn't say I show in most clothes, but lying down, I can see the bump. I was a 16/18 pre preg, and am tall (5'10"), so those two factors hide it a little (shorter you are, more it often shows, as fewer spaces for baby to hide in Grin). I have a friend who's the same size pre-pg, but about a foot shorter, who was showing more than me at this stage.

I cannot fit in my normal clothes though, so something's going on! I am with you on the bump-hunger.

charlottesweb87 · 20/08/2013 12:49

I am a size 8 and 5ft6. I started showing quite obviously at 12 weeks. Then it seemed to slow down a bit. Now I am almost 19 weeks and today I woke up and it seems huge today and even a different shape! More pointy somehow. I love it! Grin
