MS fading away and I'm freaking out

I'm sure this has been done to death but I'm looking for some positive stories...

Have suffered horrendous morning sickness from 4 weeks until now, I'm 7.5 weeks and the since yesterday the nausea has been fading... it seems to be more on and off and less severe. I've convinced myself I've miscarried and the hormone levels are slowly going down hence the m/s coming and going. Still have quite sore boobs though.

Still have 5 weeks to wait til a scan and feeling incredibly anxious!

Try not to panic - it'll come and go but it does sometimes reduce around now due to the placenta starting to take over.

I've never had MS in either pregnancy so it is certainly possible to have successful pregnancies without being sick.

I've read a lot on here that the placenta should be taking over now which can signal the end of MS for some women who have been suffering. The 12 week thing is a bit of a myth really. Some women lose their MS at 12 weeks. Others never have it, have it all the way through or only at the very beginning.

You really can't read anything into levels of MS.

X post with pinkfondentfancy!

Mine always starts to improve between 7.5 weeks and 8.5 weeks and is usually pretty much gone by 9-10 weeks! The placenta starts to take over at this point which probably explains the improvement for some women.

Thanks, good to hear it can happen in normal pregnancies but having had a mc recently, this isn't reassuring me as much as I'd hoped :(

I'd go to the docs and explain your worry and loss of symptoms -when I had early scan with ds, loss of symptoms was something they asked about. I'm sure with your history that they'll understand your anxiety.

It gives me hope however that my horrible nausea may abate in a week or so! Fingers crossed for you

Misty9 · 19/08/2013 19:38

Also, every pg really is different. I had no sickness with ds.

sleepcrisis · 19/08/2013 19:39

Thanks Misty. I have my booking app. tommorrow so I will beg her then. Cry and cry if I have to! But where I live, unfortunately, policy is only to scan early if there is bleeding. Even my friend who had a mmc was not allowed one. They are pretty harsh. I told them I'd had a mc and she just said 'ahhhh. you must be worried. nevermind.'

Could you afford a private scan? It would put your mind at rest?

sleepcrisis · 19/08/2013 19:53

Really complicated but I'm not in UK, bit of a weird system here and no private clinics. don't want to out myself by going into too many details about where I live but basically it's a no :(
