You really need to very yourself seen before you can be sure. Have you rung your doctor yet?

No one can diagnose over the internet as ever pregnancy is different.

Go to your local hospital and ask for the early pregnancy unit. You don't need to make an appointment.

Tell them you're 6 weeks pregnant and need an emergency appointment. Failing that go to A&E where they should refer you to the EPU.

its hard to say cos everyone is different is the blood red or brown? I bled for 7 weeks at the beginning of this pregnancy but it was mostly brown blood (old blood) and am now 31 weeks fingers crossed for you x

valiumredhead · 23/08/2013 09:28

You would still get symptoms I think as you'll have hormones.

Keeping everything crossed for you x

Pregnancy hormones can stick around for a long time layler, (basically the hormones are what causes most of the symptoms) even if baby has gone, so there's no way to tell at the moment.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. There is hope though, i bled very suddenly and badly and lost clots when i was 15 weeks preg. I had a scan at the hospital the next day, and baby was fine.

I'm going to be honest with you - I don't think A&E will much help to you. You will sit around for ages, and then be told that the scan unit is fully booked, and that they wont be able to stop you loosing your baby if that is what is happening. It's what they said to me at 15 weeks.

It's good that your cervix is closed. How is the pain? x

It seems incredibly cruel to make you wait 2 weeks.

I have been in this situation and it is too long, ime.

I don't know where you are but can you google to find an Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU) at a hospital near you that lets you self refer- (some do, some don't.)
I would find one, go in person, explain what has happened and asked to be scanned. They are a lot more likely to be able to scan you there than A&E.
I would go today, as early as possible, as it is much more likely to get a scan today than over the weekend.

I've always had to wait for scans even if I went to the epu . Be prepared for them not to scan you .

when my mid-wife rang the epu yesterday to try get my appomimnet moved forward they said could as they need to wait 2 weeks to see what was happing soo i dont think going in is going to help tbh xx

Layler, I have found that turning up in person does tend to produce results.

When you are actually standing there in front of them they do seem to find the compassion to help you.

On three different occasions (different PG's) I have been told to wait it out at home and decided to go to the EPU myself.

When I got there in person and said 'look I'm massively distressed psychologically, I can not possibly wait another week without it doing further harm to me' an appointment has been provided.

On two of these three times they actually admitted me as I needed medical treatment and if I'd waited it out at home I would have been very poorly indeed so I have learnt not to listen to the advice which seems very geared towards conserving meagre resources even when that is not always in the best interest of the patient.

Do you really think if it was your midwife who was in early pg passing clots she would wait it out for 2 weeks or demand to be scanned to find out what exactly had been passed?

I feel very angry on your behalf as they are fobbing you off.
