Weird dreams whilst pg

I'm 8 weeks pg today, and yesterday after getting in from work I was shattered. Even getting something to eat was an effort so poor dh had to sort himself out with his own dinner too. Anyway, back onto the subject; I got into bed ridiculously early but was subjected to some really awful weird dreams. The first one was that all my teeth were crumbling and fell out and all I could do was spit them out. Is it normal to have odd dreams during pregnancy?

Not sure if it is a symptom of pregnancy but with all three I have had more dreams than when not pregnant. A lot about vampires or zombies. Not nice at all.
This morning I had a dream about my DS being stuck somewhere really dangerous and I had lost my voice so I couldn't shout to warn him. Weird.

I'm 6+1 and keep having dreams about sex Blush but not nice Tom Hardy ones, more 'married off to an old Greek man for my families honour' wierdness!!

I am 40 weeks now. I remember having very weird dreams in the first trimester too - but maybe not quite as weird as princesskitkats lol Grin

Now that my due date is here, I've dreamt that I've given birth in vivid detail for the last 4 nights. It's EXHAUSTING.

In my last pg I had recurring dreams about my teeth falling out. It seems like a common one. This time I've had one of those, and a couple of sex ones. One involving a ginger radio presenter that was so vivid it was scary.

I have weird and very vivid dreams even when I am not pregnant, but since carrying a little human, I have had some weird baby dreams, here are just two examples!

  1. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl (labour was the easiest in history- in the dream). Then my beautiful baby girl grew really fast, so in three months, she was the equivalent of three, with blonde curly locks. But then she witnessed a serial killer doing his stuff! Fortunately, the murderer didn't know about my baby's growth, so we were able to keep her safe and identify the killer!

  2. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl (labour was again the stuff of dreams). This time, almost as soon as the baby was born, he became ridiculously heavy. I am talking stones, not pounds, to the point that even daddy couldn't pick him. We have to put him on a trolley to carry him around the house! Everything else about him was healthy

I have had more, but my mushy brain can't remember right now - probably because I am supposed to be working (oops!)

I had awful dreams about going for a scan and the baby would turn it's face to the screen and growl with razor sharps fangs at me.
This was with DS. funny thing is he does actually have fangs!

I've had extremely lucid dreams ever since I was really small, but during pregnancy they've gone absolutely mental. The last 5 or 6 weeks in particular (I'm 34 weeks) I've only had crazy sex dreams... every single night!! Thank god I've left work so the inappropriate ones involving colleagues aren't quite as embarrassing the next day Wink

With my first I was dreaming that there were tarantulas all over the bed and this used to happen ALL the time!

With my second i have been having these same dreams!! I have had about 4 so far, 3 where I think there's spiders all over the bed and the last one was about a giant earwig! I just woke up, 'saw' it fall off the bed, so I dive out the bed, turn the light on, and there I am for the next hour looking for something that was never there. Hmm

The most weird dream I had was I think last week or the week before. I just woke up and went into my daughter's bedroom to see if she was ok. I noticed that one of my children were missing (keep in mind I only have the one at the moment, lol) went crazy searching around the house looking, in the living room, kitchen, my bedroom?? I even went back to daughter's bedroom and was looking out of her window thinking said child had jumped out of the window. I was close to tears at this point, seriously traumatized or something. And it wasn't until I actually stood there thinking wtf am I doing that I realised I am either subconsciously sleepwalking or something to that extent. But I was known to sleep walk when I was younger so I don't know if that's why I'm doing it. Confused I don't know, but it's just not normal!!

I forgot all about the crazy dreams until I had my first one again about the tarantulas.

Touch wood I've been okay the past week or two lol.

God some of you poor ladies have had some bad ones. I think I can cope with the teeth loss one, although dh did say to me if it happens three times it'll come true....yeah I'm not that stupid! All I had to contend with was blinding myself in the bathroom with the light just so I could make sure all my teeth were still all there! Grin

I have weird dreams all the time.

Last night I dreamt I was running a marathon and woke up with really achey legs and was more tired than before I went to sleep.

The other night I dreamt that I went into labour and everybody was ignoring me because they were arguing. Apparently we had signed over 50% of the baby to MIL and she didn't want it anymore which made OH furious. I finally got their attention and got dropped in the foyer of the hospital by OH who then went back home to argue with his mum some more.

rachyconks · 20/08/2013 17:19

I'm 8 weeks too and have been having really vivid dreams, not necessarily scary, but extremely realistic. I had them with my DD too. I seem to remember they came and went throughout the pregnancy.

Nah, I dream weird stuff all the time. When I was pregnant my dreams were on a par with other folks' weird.

Usually in my dreams there'll be someone I'm talking to, who during the course of conversation becomes someone completely different. Oh, and they're usually then warning me that people are trying to get me to kill me, or kidnap me. Or I'm fighting a dragon...

Teeth falling out is a classic anxiety dream, btw. :)
