My husband has been away with work for pretty much all of my pregnancy and will be back when I'm 34-36 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if its a good idea to book a few days away when he gets home, as its the last chance we'll have for some time on our own. It wouldn't be far away from home. Am
I mad for thinking about this? Not sure how I'll feel then. I've felt fine so far, low risk etc. we haven't been able to have a holiday for the last 2 years due to him being on standby for going away with work, so it feels like our only chance. But then I don't want to book something and regret it! Any advice?

I'd say go for it. Take your notes and hospital bag to leave in the boot of the car. And enjoy your time together before DC arrives.

Do it! We're heading off on holiday today (33+3) and we are staying in the UK. I have hospital notes packed, a few bits in a hospital bag and we're taking the car seat but this is probably over cautious (except for notes of course).
We have a weekend away planned for mid September (when I will be 37 weeks) but just an hour away.
Planning lots of relaxing!

Thanks, I'm thinking an hour away or maybe a touch more. Wasn't sure if I was being silly though. Really just want a few days alone before all hell breaks lose. Plus everyone will be visiting as he's been away for a while. Just want to run away and hide Wink

Go for it! We went away when I was 35 weeks, just over an hour from home. Took my notes but that was all. Figured DH could go home and get anything else if I ended up in hospital. We've also been having the odd day out, currently 37 weeks and yesterday we drove 1.5hrs to the beach. I don't want to sit around at home for weeks waiting for baby to appear!!

We're having a few nights away at 35 weeks, hadn't really thought anything of it to be honest! Going a couple of hours away but guess ill make sure we have Hosp notes and a bag then! Should we be taking baby seat just in case?!

I'm going to a wedding in France at 36weeks. DS came at. 38 weeks so I'm a bit worried but sod it!

Hmm I'm going away at 32.5 wks but about 4/5 hrs away. Was going to take notes and probably hospital bag.

Maybe should take car seat as well?! Obviously pretty unlikely baby will arrive sooo early but then a 9hr round trip to collect the car seat if the baby did come?!

I only got home from my last work trip at 36+5 and drove the 5-6hrs each way, no problem, so def go for it.

I took my TENs and the number the local hospitals on route, and planned lots of breaks (and toilet stops).
