Why is this happening?

Normally go 2 or 3 times a week.

I have wasted nearly 40 bloody minutes in the loo!!

Is this normal in pregnancy?

I'm 25+1 and going every couple of hours. How far along are you? It could be normal or it could be a UTI. Are you having any pain when you pee?

ClartyCarol · 18/08/2013 21:49

If it's poo and you're nearly due (poetry!) then it may be the start....

I always had a good clear out at the beginning of labour, well before any other signs.

ClartyCarol · 18/08/2013 21:50

Daley OP said she usually goes 2 -3 times pw. Don't think we're talking wee!

BigW · 18/08/2013 21:54

When are you due? Your body could be having a bit of a 'clear out' before the big day!

DaleyBump · 18/08/2013 21:56

Aha, sorry! Ignore me! My BM have been all over the place. Sometimes none, sometimes like five times a day. It's really crazy!

InkleWinkle · 18/08/2013 21:58

When are you due? Like other posters have said...could be the big clear out!!

Madamecastafiore · 18/08/2013 22:51

Am only 27 weeks and is poo not wee, wee about every 30 mins!

Do you think just not enough room for poo storage?

this has been me for the last two weeks! am 33 weeks. was worried it was early labour...

think it is just side effect of pregnancy i have to say i prefer it to constipation :)

LtGreggs · 19/08/2013 12:10

Sorry to say that I think it can be one of those lovely side-effects of pregnancy. With DS1, I had diarrhea / very frequent poos from about 27 weeks right through to 42 weeks. Joy oh joy.

I hated it, but every HCP I mentioned it to just brushed it aside, so I got the impression it was just tough luck. I started to retain a lot of water too - very swollen legs etc by the end. I think my body/bladder just couldn't handle the wee any more so got rid of excess water by storing it up in my legs or adding it to my bowel.

Pretty much instantly fixed once delivered...

KirjavaTheCat · 19/08/2013 12:19

Been this way since 12-13 weeks, I'm now 29 weeks and it's gotten worse! I moaned about it to the midwife and she just told me to count my lucky stars it's this and not constipation. Guess she had a point but still!

Bunnylion · 19/08/2013 12:36

Same here - but may also be due to the huge amount that I'm eating Blush

I keep stocking up on chocolate biscuits for energy snacks during early labour - on my MWs advice - but maternity leave is so bloody boring I keep eating them all and have to keep restocking!
