Question about movements?

This is probably going to sound incredibly stupid, but I'm 25+1 with my first and it seems like he likes to have two really active days then two quiet days. Is this normal? On his active days I can feel him all day, but when he's not so active I can't feel him for hours and it's really worrying. For example, the other day he didn't kick all day until about 2ish in the afternoon, then he was only active for about a half hour and didn't start moving again until about 2ish in the morning (which, by this point I was frantic). I've been checked and he's perfectly fine, but I have no idea if this is normal or not!

Hi, I can only tell you what is normal for my pregnancy and its pretty similar- there seems to be some kind of pattern of a couple of days busy then 1 or 2 quieter days. I went to the MAU on Friday as I hadn't felt much movement for about 36 hours but as soon as I was wired up the mw saw loads of movement, so I think the baby is just sometimes kicking in places you can't feel. I'm never sure exactly what constitutes worrying reduced movement, I'd love to hear others views.
I'm 34 weeks now.

My pregnancy was similar too, I had periods where he would be quiet for a day then busy again. By about 30 weeks the movement was more regular.

You are advised to look for a change in movements so if that's your babies pattern it may just be normal, my ds2 and ds3 hardly moved at all the whole pregnancies but were all squished up because of my low fluid and had positional talipes so wouldn't have been able to kick.

I'm 25+5 and also seem to have a rough pattern of quite a few very active days and then a quieter day. I contacted my mw 2 weeks ago as I'd been getting loads of movement and then one day very little. All was fine and baby was bouncing again the day after.

I've just had a run of days where movements have been pretty much constant all day then yesterday was quieter but back to very active today.

I know though that even on quiet days I always feel baby in the morning and after my evening meal so if I ever didn't feel it in the morning I would get checked.

It is confusing though knowing when you need to worry or not so I just think if I'm in any doubt I'll ring the hospital for advice x
