Best maternity tights?

Boring, but I need tights! On an old thread I found the consensus was h&m for tights. But that was a few years ago. Who has tights they like and which stay up?

Emma Jane ones are good, I buy them from Asos which does in my opinion the best maternity clothes, but I'm sure they're available from lots of other places.

H&m!

Iwish · 18/08/2013 14:55

I got some from mamas and papas and they are so comfy xx

Ok thanks ladies I've ordered some h&m ones after failing to find the asos/ Emma Jane ones on my phone. Will try them and if no good will get Emma Jane or mamas & papas. Can't seem to wear trousers this time round, dresses are so much more comfortable, so good tights are going to be a must.

I bought some h&m ones last week and wore them today, absolute nightmare! I am a size 10 and I'm 18 weeks pregnant. 5ft 5 so not very tall. Anyway, the 'bump' part of the tights didn't stretch past the top of my hip. I spent 4 hours constantly hitching them up before deciding they were just too irritating to wear :(

Gutted because I do need some good tights for winter..

Hermionewastherealhero · 18/08/2013 21:34

I bought some maternity ones but in my experience primark ones in a size too big were fab- so nice and supportive and cosy! (Black thick tights)

chocolatemartini · 19/08/2013 10:52

Oh no vix that sounds grim! I'm at a stage where I don't want any pressure on my bump so I was hoping they'd go all the way over it... Have tried normal tights in a big size but need them to come up higher. I have some seraphine ones from my last pg which were comfy and fitted well but bobbled really badly. They look a bit of a state. Ah well, let's see what the h&m ones are like on me...

Which of those mentioned above would have a sculpting effect if any? I'm wearing a body con lace dress (from new look maternity) to a wedding in a couple of weeks and I want all lumps smoothed down!

Bunnylion · 19/08/2013 12:44

These are brilliant shaping maternity tights. I've worn them to a couple of weddings this year. They smooth the unwanted lumps but are super stretchy on the belly.

spanx maternity tights

Rosenip · 19/08/2013 14:02

Thanks Bunnylion, will order those straight away!

SweetieTime · 19/08/2013 18:18

I wore good old M&S maternity tights at the weekend. They were very comfortable, the top did role down slightly but not enough to worry about. I went for a medium size, I am currently 21 weeks with twins and usually a size 14 at 5ft 3.

chocolatemartini · 19/08/2013 18:40

Oh good point I have a wedding to go to next month too will try spanx for that Wink

I've just got some ASOS own brand mat tights. Really impressed! They are £8. Soft, thick and lovely stretch around the bump. They have a grip around the top so that they don't slip down at all. I'm only 12 weeks but normal tights were getting really uncomfortable around my bloat Grin

chocolatemartini · 20/08/2013 09:24

Yeah I'm only 13 weeks my bump is mostly chips and sandwiches, but I can't bear anything tight on it. ASOS sound like the way to go.
