UCLH amenity rooms - any experience?

I'm due to have my DC2 at UCLH by ELCS (had an EMCS at St Thomas's last time).

I didn't mind the section but loathed the postnatal wards - I was put next to a woman who had been readmitted with a baby who was failing to thrive and was woken every hour to feed, and cried 24/7, the whole time. Midwives were overstretched and chippy about passing my baby to me etc, even though I was hooked up to a catheter.

I wondered if anyone had any experience of getting a private/amenity room at UCLH? What's the deal and how much does it cost?

Ideally, I'd love for OH to stay and just have a bit of quiet but no idea how it works

Contact them & ask for tour/current prices..?

Around Christmas they were doing a trial of OHs being able to stay for the whole ward. Amenity rooms had camp bed & ensuite though.
Would be a bit quieter but not soundproofed & don't come with a private midwife so wouldn't get round the overstretched thing!

Also sometimes would not be available as other people still in or allocated on clinical need e.g. antenatal patients / stillbirth / multiples.

Thanks - I will ask about it. Basically I would like my OH to stay with me so he can do the stuff that the midwives clearly resent doing, eg picking up my baby at night for me when I'm on a catheter....
