Hi all

Do you know where I can get a large Moses basket? I had one for DS (£35 from John Lewis) but he outgrew it really quickly.

Thanks!

Swinging cribs tend to be bigger, all of the Moses baskets I've looked at seem to be a standard size.

Ours was from mamas and papas and both dc were in for around 5 months so it was pretty big. Saw one with my sister the other day in mothercare for £55 not including stand.

Apparently the Shnuggle plastic Moses baskets are bigger.

I second the crib thing. I did see something in babies r us the other day. Was a moses basket but was canvas instead of wicker and that looked bigger than normal

I got mine from Tesco direct.

It was 75cm long. Most Moses baskets are around 69cm long. My baby was very long. He has been consistently above the top height centile. I was still using it past 6 months and he was 75cm!

I couldn't have used it on the stand past 4 months as he was rolling. So I used it on the floor.

Will try and find a link.

Not a Moses basket, but a crib - look for the Boori Parrot on John Lewis. Not too expensive abs quite a bit bigger than a Moses basket.
Wouldn't be something you could carry about the house though

This one although its out of stock at the moment. They do a couple of colours in it though.

Awesome, thanks all. I really want a Moses basket as my house has four floors - love the Claire ADR Lune, and Schnuggle.

Its a right pain having lots of floors. We ended up with carrycot on the pram downstairs, cot in the middle then travel cot at the top. Be careful carrying a Moses basket too much, the handles are sometimes not as robust as they should be

maggiethemagpie · 17/08/2013 21:08

The I love my bear ones from Babies r us are huge - my son was in one until around 4/5 months

maggiethemagpie · 17/08/2013 21:10

Now we are in a bigger house, I have got 2 one for upstairs one for downstairs. They are not worth buying new, they go for around £15 second hand on ebay and then you can get a new mattress for £10 odd.
I didn't want to carry the moses around too much in case the handles broke.

Most Moses Baskets say not to carry it by the handles with baby inside it. Bizarre really to provide handles and then say not to use them!
Ours stayed on its stand most of the time as the carry-cot to the pram was preferable downstairs.
