Leaving Chelsea&Westminster, not by car?

Just wondering if anyone has had their baby at Chelsea & Westminster, and if it is ok to take the baby home in a sling/pram on public transport or taxi, rather than buying a car seat we do not need and being forced to get a friend to drive us (not a car owner).

Thank you in advance!

Not that hospital, but I walked out of the hospital where I gave birth with my baby in a pram. No problem, in fact they loved the fact that I was walking her home! I'd give the ward a ring if you want to check though.

I've taken both my babies home in a taxi. No one batted an eyelid. I don't think they even knew tbh.

Had DS in 2011. They paid no attention whatsoever, although we did drive him home. But they did not check.

Not sure if hospitals actually check how you take baby home. Not that hospital, but with my first we had the car seat and all the baby paraphernalia in the car, even his pramsuit, so we wrapped him up in my partner's fleece and carried him out in our arms. No one batted an eyelid!
