After you found out your were pg?

With DS, I was there pronto and the appointment went something like this. Me: "I think I'm pregnant" Dr: "Have you done a test?" Me: "Yes" Dr:"Congratulations".

What I mean is, is there any point or should I jsut book myself in with the midwife in a few weeks time?

It often depends what sort of service you get from both the gp and the midwife. First time round it was the gp who organised the 12 week scan with the hospital. 2nd time it was the midwife but the gp referred me to the midwfife team.

I would ring your doctor's surgery & ask the advice of your receptionist. We're the same as you....... no point seeing the doctor as he just tells you to book in with the midwife. The receptionist was able to advise at how many weeks I should book in with midwife - this seems to vary quite widely according to each individual practice. It's at 8 weeks here, but 5 miles down the road at my old surgery it wasn't till 12 weeks!

Oh, and Congratulations btw Grin
