Hi im 32 weeks pregnant now and I just have this overwhelming feeling that baby is coming soon.. and by soon I mean in the next 2-3 weeks, its controlling my every thought, I can't sit Still and im threating about every little thing that might not be done in time, the other night I started contracting and it lasted for 3 hours getting to the stage where they were every 5 mins and my partner was trying to get me to hospital but I refused as I was scared, I called my midwife the next morning and she came to check me over, she said baby is fully engaged and my blood pressure is a bit high and im now not allowed to have sex as apparently this is what caused the contractions.. I lost my first baby through labour at 41 weeks and im now terrified, any advice?

Sorry to hear about your loss you must be feeling very anxious. I always thought my ds was going to come early and he did, but you are at a stage where even if baby came early they would be fine with some help. Please speak to your midwife and go into hospital if you get concerned.

So sorry to hear about your previous baby :( that must have been unimaginably awful for you - and I'm not surprised your blood pressure is high! Were you offered/did you get any counselling last time? Did you get support from the relevant charity (sorry, can't remember what they're called - Charlie's?) if so, they should have support available for you at this most stressful of times.

Easy for me to say, but you really need to find some way of taking your mind off it and relaxing (sorry if that sounds patronising). Also, can you talk to your dp about how you're feeling? I imagine he may be feeling similarly? Have you looked into hypnobirthing as a way to maybe help your anxiety during labour? Have you talked to your midwife about how things are affecting you?

As for your title question: EVERYONE (including the midwife!) thought I'd go early with ds - he was born via induction at 40+5 Grin

Sending lots of positive vibes your way - you can do this.

Thank you both :) yes I was offered counselling but it was six months after she died and by that point her father had already left me and I had thrown myself back into work as an attempt to forget about it all, I don't feel right about going for counselling now anyway im not very open with my feelings usually. Im now with a different father who has been a great friend through my life but he wasn't there to experience the first baby so it's hard to talk about it really as he doesn't really understand, I guess he imagines it as a miscarriage (no offence to anyone who has miscarried)

Sorry you went through something so awful!

I'm also 32 weeks and have a really strong feeling I'm going to have this baby early! I packed my hospital bag last week because I was having stabbing pains down there and period like pains. I never had any pains with my ds, he was 10 days early so I just think all these pains and cramps I'm having are leading to early labour. I could be wrong and hope I am! x
