Great scan news Rock omri & pixieSmileSmileSmile

My anomaly scan went brilliantly, everything is where is should be and got to see baby againSmile She's already a wriggler Grin, must be the ginger beer i had before i left lol.

Because i'm a larger lady i get another scan at 36 weeks, i have never had a scan that late before, i bet that will be a lovely experience seeing baby that late on, the features must be very well defined by thenSmile

Starting to relax a little more now and i only have just over 3 weeks until i'm 24 weeks, really looking forward to reaching that milestone!

katatonic I think what turns your stomach is very personal, so hard to make good suggestions. Things that work for me when feeling rough: pretzels (hard or soft), rich tea biscuits, plain rice and chicken, rice with soy sauce and broccoli - something about the salt seems to actually help.
But then that's just me! Sounds like cruising the aisles is a good plan.

kjh5 · 23/08/2013 17:48

Yay pumpkin! so glad everything is good :)

Kat I couldn't bear to eat anything this morning, we're having friends over for dinner and I'm making steak with dauphinoise potatoes and salad. It's all making me feel a bit green - coupled with the non drinking they are definitely going to guess something is up! Although I made Eton mess for dessert and it turns out my aversion to food doesn't stretch to whipped cream, strawberries and meringue... I had to get DH to stop buy the shops on his way home from work to pick up more supplies as I ate half the bowl Blush

Ooh do we think Anda might be having her lovely squishy twins? Hope she is ok...

TeaAndANatter · 23/08/2013 18:09

kjh I know what you mean about the weekend for you. I miscarried next Wednesday (if that makes any sense at all!). Crossing everything for you for the weekend, and looking forward to reading that you're past your mc hump!

Hoping all going well for anda. I think I might love twins (and apparently my age is the peak age for conceiving them, so who knows!)

GuffSmuggler · 23/08/2013 18:51

Fantastic news pixie and pumpkin!! So pleased for you both Grin

Mnnnnn rock that bake looks DELISH, I might have to make that next week (and not think about the calories). Anything with cheese is a big winner in my book.

Pixielady83 · 23/08/2013 19:01

Yay pumpkin so pleased yours went well too hooray for wriggling Smile

Forgot to say earlier thanks so much to everyone for all your support, this group has really helped me stay sane and get here without too much anxiety. Hope everyone has marvellous bank holidays xxx

Lieslvontrapp · 23/08/2013 19:22

Great scan news Pixie & Pumpkin!

I'm feeling posifrickintive today as had my 16 wks appointment and got to hear baby's heartbeat! Also my nt and bloods put me at low risk so another relief. Think I might even make my first baby purchase tomorrow!

Bodicea · 23/08/2013 19:38

Congratulations on the good scan news pixie and pumpkin. We have had a good week on this thread xxxxx

What is this hypnobrithing thing about then? I like anything that helps you nod off. But I assumed it was just to do with labour. Do I need it in my life?

Rock that looks scrummy. I want some now!
I don't seem to want any proper food at the mo. Just want carbs and snacky things. It may because I cant be bothered to cook at the mo and DH doesnt know how to cook anything at all. Just had a bagel smothered in philadelphia with chives. Bliss. Also tried the chocolate philly and was massively dissapointed. Was expecting it to taste like cheescake but was really sickly sweet. yuk!

bod hypnobirthing is meant to help with labour - but it is very relaxing and always made me fall asleep whilst listening to it and it seems it has the same effect on ibip. I did have a pretty good labour last time so maybe I was subliminal messaged (!)

andadietcoke · 23/08/2013 20:03

saggy, kjh and tea [waves]

Still here! BP still completely erratic after a few home visit checks after being discharged late on tuesday and I've been in again today for bloods/monitoring etc, and have had my home visit on Monday upgraded to another trip to ADU. If bloods remain okay then they won't deliver early (unless I go into spontaneous labour) and I'll have them on Thursday. Feel like I've spent the last week at the hospital, which I pretty much have Hmm

I promise I'll let you know if they're coming early. I'm trying to muster up lots of posifrickintivity but I'm very scared - this time next week I'll either have two babies or something that I've been waiting to happen since December will have happened. I'm terrified, and no amount of rational thinking or sensible advice is helping, hence being a bit quiet.

TotalShock · 23/08/2013 20:46

Good news on the scans again today pixie & pumpkin

anda I think it's so hard to stay rational but you seem amazing to me!

Hope everyone else is doing well and has a good bank holiday weekend!

So just need to try and stay sane til next Wednesday morning. Easier said than done I think....

shellsocks · 23/08/2013 21:11

Hey anda glad to hear your hanging in there. You have reminded me of how I was with DS with a lot of your comments throughout your pregnancy so I know some of how you are feeling.

It's not gonna be the same for you with having a planned delivery date I know, but my fear lifted when I went overdue and I just went on a mission to meet my baby....hopefully when you get to d-day the same will happen for you. Thinking of you, be kind to yourself these next few days x

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 23/08/2013 21:43

Anda, I know what you mean, I don't think ill be happy until this baby is in my arms. It won't be long now though.

I have an interesting new twist on symptoms today! Don't eat and feel faint and dizzy, do eat and feel bloody nauseous! Confused

Does anyone else have the "what to expect" app? It's great. Daily and weekly updates, a date tracker, and it tells you how big the baby is in fruit! We are a lime today! Grin
It's really good, although spookily accurate! Whatever symptom I get, the App mentions it the same day! Confused

kjh5 · 23/08/2013 23:13

Anda glad to hear you are still with us! Not too much longer to go for you now. I have absolutely no idea how I'd feel in your situation given that I am unable to think that far ahead, but I am sure that you precious girls will be here safe and sound in no time at all. It sounds like they have you well monitored at the hospital (as annoying as it is to be in and out of there) so just keeping fingers and toes tightly crossed for you that the whole thing is over soon with a minimal amount of stress!

Saggy I looked for that app last pregnancy but couldn't find it. Although I spent my days reading everything I could about what each stage of pg entailed... this time I have stayed away from all of that. Too scared to think we might actually get past this weekend! Had some cramping earlier which is freaking me out a bit (but then I have had mild cramps all this week and paid them no heed) but the nausea seems to have kicked up another notch so I'm trying to focus on that!

Liesel awesome news about your scan!

Kat that sounds like some dinner! What did you end up eating? Our friends totally didn't buy the antibiotics tale (and I'm so gutted I couldn't drink the wine they brought round - it was divine) but at least they played along and pretended I was telling the truth - I feel so guilty about lying.

Wishing everyone else a lovely bank holiday weekend xxx

bluelighthouse · 23/08/2013 23:20

I hope I can join you one day. Still going through my missed mc. At least it has confirmed how much I want children. How long did you wait to try again for your babies following your mc?

Pentagon · 23/08/2013 23:22

woohoo, congratulations pumpkin - I'm loving all the good news!

liesl yay for 16 weeks and heartbeat!

anda it's normal to feel like that when approaching d-day! It sounds like you're handling it really well though Smile

Pentagon · 23/08/2013 23:35

blue I've just seen your post - sorry you're going through this Flowers I've had 2 MMCs and ERPCs. First time, we started trying right after I got my period (which took 2 months) and got pregnant the second month of trying. All went well and I had my DD. Second time it took me a month to get my period and got pregnant the 4th month of trying - currently 30 weeks.

It's really hard, I hope you have lots of support and to see you here soon! All the best! x

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 23/08/2013 23:51

Blue every single one of us has been through MC at least once and we all made it here, and you will too!
How long you wait is entirely personal. Many wait until their first period has been and gone and lots just go for it when their MC ends. There's no medical evidence that not waiting for AF is detrimental. It's recommended purely for dating purposes.
We can all, I'm sure, heartily recommend the TTC branch of this thread. It's in Conception, and is POSIFRICKENTIVITY, TTC after MC, or thereabouts. It's wonderful and supportive. And, also, there is a wonderful MC forum hiding in Body and Soul. One of MNs hidden gems.
A big {{{hug}}} for you, and your first dose of posifrickentivity, this WILL happen for you. Each and every one of us is proof. Xx

Blue bigs hugs for you - it's such a crappy time for you right now (which sadly we all know). I personally went straight back on the ttc horse and really wanted to be one who got up duffed straight away. There are plenty of people who do find it happens for them. Took me 3 cycles to get my BFP though and our sister thread like Saggy says was a life saver for me - it should have posifrickingtivity some where in the title on the conception board.

IBelieveInPink · 24/08/2013 01:24

Diet - hang in there. Keep busy (trips to hospital obviously doing that!) less than a week to go. If being quiet helps you, you go for it. End is in sight lovely. Just a few more sleeps.

Bod - I am a hypnobirthing novice too. These lovely ladies recommended it. I am not a hippy tree hugger type at a, but it just seems to make sense. Focus on the task in hand, practice by going through a meditation type thing until it familiar, then focus on that in birth. Use the control to take away the fear and get on with it. :). At the moment, fantastic for putting me into a deep sleep. However I am hoping to gain some of the general idea too or use it to sleep through labour :)

RainbowConnections · 24/08/2013 05:49

Great scan news Pumkin and Pixie.
Sounds like you had a great appt too Liesl. Hope you enjoy your first purchase.

Blue really sorry you are going through this. I too can recommend the TTC thread. Very lovely ladies who will understand what you've been through.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/08/2013 07:18

BlackholesAndRevelations · 24/08/2013 07:39

Anda- good to hear from you! Stay strong. Your babies will be here before you know it. Hugs xxx

Blue- I was very unlucky to conceive straight after my loss and then lose that one too. After the first proper period we tried again and I'm currently 23 weeks. It is a truly shit time, we can all empathise. I hope you are here soon xxxxx

Congrats on all the good scans- pumpkin, do you feel more relaxed now? Hope so xxx
