Just wondering what happens really. I can't remember what happened first time round, had a look on nhs website but wondering if they discuss previous birth etc at this appointment.
I'm a little hazy on my first birth as I was so drugged up- do they go over old notes or is that only by request?

I think I'm over thinking and maybe worrying a little bit aren't I... There I was thinking I was playing it cool second time round

I can't remember mine and it was only 10 weeks ago! Grin

I don't think it was very interesting. Just went through all the questions (of which there are loads now) about family history etc, weight, any relevent health things.. I did get asked about the last birth and any problems as it affects where they want you to give birth. They didn't ask much though.

I had mine a few weeks ago for my second pregnancy and it lasted about an hour - took blood and urine samples, blood pressure, weight and then filled in loads of paperwork. Questions about family medical history and also about previous birth(s). Things like the gestational age at birth (e.g. 39+5), baby weight, any tearing, was it induced or spontaneous, any complications etc.

About an hour?!? Flip, I was hoping to take DD with me to mine tomorrow, but she won't sit that long. Crap. Will have to rearrange.

I've got mine next week and they said the first part of it is a group meeting?! Then they will take people to the side to ask the personal questions I assume... Never heard of it don't like that before. So I doubt it's going to be a particularly helpful meeting.

Group meeting?! Blimey- let us know how that goes. Seems odd especially if anyone is keeping the pregnancy under wraps for a while.

Thanks for the replies, I don't know why but it's much more reassuring to hear this on here rather than on the NHS website.
I'll have to take some snacks with me if it's that long!

Thanks all

The group bit was only to give us some info on diet and the hospitals and vitamins etc. then they took us into a little room afterwards one by one and did weight and height and blood pressure, and that was it. Have to go back on 5th sept for the proper booking in appt which they said may take about an hour.
