Hi ladies I did the clearblue digital test and it says I'm 2-3 weeks so on the instructions it's says I'm 4 to 5 weeks. My job involves lifting heavy things not all day but time to time so I I'm in a pickle. I've already told my two close friends and my mam and sister. I know its very early but already today they have give me so much advice.

I got bk to work next week is it a good idea to tell me boss. Or wait?

Generally how long did you wait to tell people. I am going to struggle keeping it a secret untill scan

Congratulations.
I had to tell work early on due to other risks in my job. Plus i had some complications which needed me to take time off.
You need to take care of you and the baby now so you might have to spills the beans early on, especially if you're heavy lifting. X

Thanks I think I will tell them next week when I am back. I may feel relaxed once I have told them. I really wanted to wait but I don't want to put my baby at risk. If something does goes wrong at least work will be able to understand

Congrats Sarah! You're around same stage as me (4+4 today) :)

I think you should tell your work ahead of next "lifting" requirement. At least then they can carry out a H&S assessment and make any suitable adjustments to your role.

In answer to your question.....I'm waiting until the last possible moment to tell my (childless career warrior female) boss.....1) because I'm mid-30's and it will come as a big surprise that I'm diverting a little attention away from my career, 2) pregnancy takes a long time and I want to be judged solely on my performance for as long as possible and 3) because my job is physically sedentary and only mentally stressful ;)

Good luck!
