Hi everyone,

This thread is for all you incessant worriers out there, not necessarily limited to IVF-ers, although I get the feeling the people who have had trouble TTC are more prone to worrying than others!

Gah, sorry I've been crap at keeping up again! Hello and hugs to everyone. Shazz get you and your Soho house history! I love it there too. Jeepers Fairy, not long to go now!! I'm 31 wks today. Starting to feel it a bit now. Also had whooping cough and flu jabs on Mon and felt like death yesterday, but seem to be picking up now. Love to all Smile

Shazzamattazzerly · 02/10/2013 18:43

The 3 of us are in quick succession aren't we? Then I think things really speed up with buzzy, Noks, ceara, gin all not far behind.

Love the mad rocking onion. Hope the fitting was ok. A punctured uterus does not sound fun. I can't believe I have to think about contraception in a few short weeks. Mind you im guessing childbirth and a new born will be contraception enough for a whileWink

Ouch to the dig in the ribs keep. I haven't had that yet but am getting repeatedly dug in the foof. Actually I'm hoping headbut in the foof is more accurate then shazlett would be nicely in the right position already. That's a good girl, like her mum, gets prepared early just in case.....

I'm sleep walking. DP is hopefully at home preparing fish fingers, chips n peas. Mmmmmm

OnionRing · 02/10/2013 19:01

No! You need baked beans with that combo.

Mirena in, took two minutes and didn't hurt a bit, so hopefully that's me sorted for the next five years. Hurts a bit now though but just crampy. So strange after five years of ttc and pregnancy.

Hello MrsH, the jabs gave me a surprisingly sore arm. Not long for you either. There will be a rush of new babies soon.

Buzzybee123 · 02/10/2013 20:03

gin I am more than happy to come round and take photos of your ginsterwhen she arrives, I need some new subjects, the cat is a bit old hat really,

crisps my GP gave me metoclopramide which has helped make a difference for me, a roll call would be good idea

shazza look at you out on a school night in swanky London Wink I am after a rocking chair, Barrys aunt has one but not sure how long she would want to part with it for

dildals didn't even know you could get baby emery boards, I plan to do as much as possible being supine :)

fairy love the story of your DS buying the baby a present and the baby getting him one

I am totally knackered, work is manic and I am ready for bed

OP posts:
Dildals · 02/10/2013 20:15

fairy no not callous, it's is weird I agree. If I think Bella's not ready for school yet due to her prematurity I may request a years deferral so they could still be in the same class. And yes I have actually thought about this already!

onion Bella is such an easy baby at the moment that I am a bit worried that there are still some one hourly feeding stages or other baby melt downs to come. Tell me it ain't so!

shazza can anyone go to Soho House, or do you need to be a member?

putthecrispsDOWN · 02/10/2013 21:04

shazza onion is right, oop narf we'd have beans with that combo. Bloody southerners. Crumpets are ace, you can get them from tesco too but they aren't as good. Tesco do have finest white chocolate and cranberry gf cookies which are amazing though. This seems to explain the sudden weight gain I think..l.

buzzy I'm on odansetron (anti sickness drug for chemo patients) which helps but it does give me migraines. I think the weight loss is partly exhaustion and loss of appetite though.

dildals you are such an ace mum. I nibbled DDs nails too until I started using the teeny mothercare clippers, it's amazing how fast they grew.

Roll call then...add yourself in and correct my guesstimates which are mostly made up....

madness bringing up the rear with just over 7 weeks - every day still counts at this stage!

buzzy I have been thinking that a really good camera might be a nice Christmas gift from MrM and I to each other so that we can have something better than smartphones for the picture taking when the time comes.

I am going to have to hunt back through the threads to find this list of things that I must buy. Am taking notes already. dildals thinking about school already is perfectly acceptable. I have nurseries and primary schools all decided upon already and have been working out what age mini mad will be when he/she is ready for school.

gin I have no major symptoms apart from the inflated norkage and distinct lack of period or spotting. In my Pre-endo treatment days I was lucky to get a week and a half a month without anything so this is a rather dramatic symptom for me. No sickness apart from feeling a teensy bit queasy when I'm really hungry. Now that I've seen the heartbeat I am more relaxed about not feeling much. Maybe I will just be lucky Grin or maybe I will start tossing my cookies on Monday

Joining with the siblings conversation - we had a friend's two year old overnight when his mum went into labour (no other family in the country) and we did a dry run before the due date so that he would be prepared. We had a bag of fun stuff here for him that he took home when he left.

I apologise again for being so rubbish at name checking. I am reading and then promptly forgetting who said what. Suffice to say I am enjoying reading about everyone and look forward to lots more babies arriving in the near future.

keepitgoing · 03/10/2013 08:27

Yep, am 32 weeks tomorrow.

dildals that's a good plan about keeping her back a year, as a late summer baby anyway. No point in rushing her. I'm glad she's 'easy', you've had enough troubles!

All my nct class are reserving nurseries already!!

Shazzamattazzerly · 03/10/2013 08:30

Morning girls

Madness I'm so glad you are enjoying being in the gang.Smile Don't worry, it will pass so fast. My advice is to try to enjoy it as much as possible. Once I got over those extremely worrying early weeks it has got easier and I have really loved being pregnant. It is a special time and I've especially enjoyed feeling shazlett move and grow inside me. But then again I've been incredibly lucky. I feel for all those who have suffered with sickness.

Onion/ crisps. Under usual circumstances I would agree with the beans but sadly I'm not eating tomatoes at the moment as part of my dietary experiments to see what is bringing me out in hives all the time. So it had to be peas. It was yummy though and the green peas looked pretty on the plate!

Buzz I've had this rocking chair for about 20 years. I bought it from a carboot sale for £1! It was orange so we painted it white and its been great ever since. They often come up on freecycle for free so maybe you could pick one up? A few weeks ago I got a very cute teeny tiny kiddy one from freecycle for shazlett when she gets bigger. I also didn't know about baby emery boards. I didn't know about lots of things until I went to boots last week. Oh my goodness aisles and aisles of baby stuff! I hope you got some rest last night. I ended up buying a drill and tumble dryer on line and going to bed late.

Dildals you need to be a member or guest of a member to go to SH. However when we all have babies big enough to leave at home with DHs I could organise a meet up for us to go one night. It could be the first night my high heels come out post birth Grin

Fairy have you had a trial pool run yet? I'm going to book mine tonight. It comes with new hose and liner but I'm wondering if I need to change them if we have a trial run even if I don't get in? Do they need to me sterile for the big day do you think?

Have a good day everyone.
x

Oh ps buzzy isn't free on the 12-13. Is anyone other than me, gin and dildals free at that time? Maybe we could have a south London meet that weekend and then all meet up another time when everyone else is free?

Madness and motor are you based in or near London? Please do come along if you would like to. X

Dildals · 03/10/2013 10:19

shazz It's funny to hear you tell madness to enjoy her pregnancy because I remember this forum (and me probably) telling you the exact same thing a couple of months ago!

Newborn Tip No 3: Those vests with poppers that fasten under their cute little (violent) bottoms? Ever wonder why babies wear them? I have found out when I put her in some cute (white, hey, it was a gift) terry towelling track pants (classy!), no vest. Half way thru the morning I realised that she had builders bum and had managed to squirm off her nappy with disastrous consequences! Lesson. Babies actually wriggle out of their nappies if you don't strap 'm down in those vests! Just thought I'd share this with the newbies amongst you :-).

Nokkie73 · 03/10/2013 12:21

Has anyone seen my fundus ? Is in the freezer aisle, next to the Aunt Bessie's ?

Talking of which, my Aunt Bessie's are (for me) getting quite bouncy. Again.

Hello everyone. Sorry I have been AWOL. I have been on a secret mission to kill instadiffers.

Shazzamattazzerly · 03/10/2013 13:37

Hi Noks did you manage to get any?

They need to be stamped out. Or at the very least taught a valuable lesson Wink

Dildals oh goodness me I remember only too well how awful I felt in the early days. I was screaming at one point thinking that the baby had died inside. Awful. Now that I can feel her though it is reassuring and overall I think I've enjoyed it all from about 4 months. So you do have a while to go yet Madness to get to 4 months!

Thanks for the newborn tips dildals. I've been lent so many white vests and babygros I'm worried that they won't be white when they go back. I'll have to have a good bleaching session!

Dildals · 03/10/2013 15:29

I don't understand why people opt for white vests and baby grow .. I got given a lot as well. It's a bit like buying a white car saying it's easier to wash. Just buy a brown/yellow car I say and no one will EVER know! ;-)

keepitgoing · 03/10/2013 15:39

Cos its like chefs or doctors, you'd rather see it then you can clean it....?

putthecrispsDOWN · 03/10/2013 16:12

I wish mine were the size of Aunt Bessie's. I doubt they'd fit in one of those huge Yorkies that you put a whole roast dinner in at the moment to be honest...

Ginestas · 03/10/2013 16:52

Hello all. I’m a big snot monster today . Luckily am working from home, so have managed to have a nap and keeping myself going with obscene amounts of chocolate..

Speak of obscene, crisps am jealous of your massive Yorkshires! Mere aunt bessies would make me v. happy.

dildals do they really make shit coloured babygros? I must investigate.

shazz we’ll miss you and Mr S at NCT on Sat! Both DH and I thought last week was better too. Seems like the teacher has settled into it a bit.

So I rang the hospital to try to get an appointment to discuss the GBS and the hospital claimed they’d never heard of such an appointment, despite sending me a letter telling me to book one. FFS. So I had a chat with a midwife on the phone and she said I can still use the MW led centre and birthing pool, hurrah bet I'm induced and end up in theatre anyway. Still not entirely sure when I need to go in during labour to get the antibiotics, other than definitely once my waters have gone, but guess I’ll find out at 36 week appointment.

Thinking about wee things, how are you ladies with bumps managing to piss in the stupid tiny pots they give you for specimens?! I’m finding it increasingly difficult, as the old yoni disappears under the bump, but wonder if there’s some technique I’m missing?

Alrighty, here’s the baby to be roll call. Getting ver ver near for lots of us.

Shazzamattazzerly · 03/10/2013 17:06

Oh now I want a roast dinner in a massive Yorkshire pudding!

Gin poor snotty you. I don't even get a pot to piss in. My MW gives me a sliver of plastic paper type thing that I'm supposed to hold under the stream. You are right, I'd be lucky if I could see the stream so I tend to wave it about abit in the general under carriage area and hope it gets wet.

Gosh the roll call is impressive. There are going to be many babies arriving. How exciting!

Shazzamattazzerly · 03/10/2013 17:06

MotorcycleMama · 03/10/2013 18:23

I thought fundus would be common parlance among the preggers community!

Just returned from 16 week appt with midwife. It was brief as I couldn't see the point in sharing my anxieties and other common pregnancy complaints like constipation, insomnia, indigestion etc. She listened to the heartbeat without being asked and it was located immediately and was strong and 145 bpm which she said is fine. That was the only bit I was bothered about, so feel much better now.

buzzy do you do shift/ward work? If so, Im not surprised you are crying with tiredness - it's knackering even when you aren't pregnant! I worked on wards for about 10 years and loved it, but it was a real killer in terms of tiredness and stress. Look after yourself.

Really good to hear you can keep to your preferred birth plan gin - that's a sure sign that they are confident in managing the GBS and keeping the risk low.

Thanks for the invitation to the meet up shazza - I'm in Cambridge, so London is easy to reach, but I'm actually on holiday in Cornwall on those dates, so can't make it.

Thanks for the roll call crisps

Did anyone else first feel their baby when lying on their stomach? I have felt funny flutterings in that position over the past few days.

OnionRing · 03/10/2013 20:11

Dildals, just because you can bleach white but yes they get very stained. Oh and they are an essential first line of defence against the poonami.

The roll call is great, we'll have a new baby every week soon.

Good heartbeat news motor. I felt flutterings in bed at night, I think it was because I could concentrate.

buzzy the fatigue is awful, hope you get some quality rest.

gin great news about the water birth. Regarding samples, I just used to wave it about and hope I caught some and wee all over my hand too - but it's only a bit of wee!

noks I want auntie bessies, instead I have either torpedos or empty socks depending on when the last feed was. I cannot wait to wear a proper bra again, much as I love my Bodysilks in going to burn the fuckers once I'm done with feeding.

Talk of high heels made me a bit wistful shazz. I want to go to Soho House too! Why must I live in the blasted frozen North?! However, DH and I have a very good restaurant table booked for early December. I intend to wear a frock and heels and drink like a fish! (Now that I have my mirena DH is following me round hopefully...)

I finally cracked and had a big cry on DH this morning as I can't get her to sleep in a cot, gain weight or take a bottle. He was very kind to me and reminded me that six months is a tricky transitional age and It Will All Be Ok soon enough. Hmm. Rationally I know this but I'm just so bloody knackered. I then went to a baby group and had a good moan with everyone else which made me feel a lot better.

I hope everyone has a lovely sleep tonight. (Including me!)
