I rang up my Community Midwife earlier for some advice about some discharge I have been having. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and for the last 3 days I have had a small amount of caramel coloured discharge of a dry but sticky consistency.

The lady who answered the phone said there were no midwives available to speak to but that maybe she could help - so I told her my problem.

She told me I most likely had thrush and to go and see my GP. Does this sound right to you? Are they qualified to give advice? I don't have any typical symptoms of thrush either??

Has anyone else had this problem??

I would take her advice and see your gp.

Thrush has always been white in my experience.

Does you itch like a bastard and long to find a lovely bucket of iced water to sit in without any panties? If not it's unlikely to be thrush. Definitely see your GP. I would definitely not take her advice - even GPs know eff all about thrush.

Bloody hell, that's awful - 'There are no midwives available, but I'm nosy I might be able to help. Please tell a total randomer me all of your medical details.'.

I'd phone back and talk to a qualified midwife.

Absolutely no itching at all - hence my confusion.

Coincidentally I have my 7 week reassurance scan tomorrow so I might just wait for that. I'm guessing if everything is fine on the scan it would indicate there is nothing to worry about with the discharge?
