how do I know if they are false or real contractions

I'm 7 months pregnant and recently started to have false contractions but never known if there real how do I know if im having a real one or not

i don't think you do know until they settle into a pattern (if they are real)

i was out with a friend on saturday who went home with 'false' contractions at 4pm and by 6pm sunday had a new baby boy :)

When they come at increasing intervals, and get stronger by the hour, they are real.

I'm in the same boat....... 8 weeks to go and starting to get contractions painful enough to wake me up but there are only a handful and then they stop. When you get ones that come regularly and start getting closer together, they are likely to be real ones
