I have 3DC DS6 DD4 and DD13 months. I am due in 10 weeks time as I will be induced due to health issues. I don't know why im so nervous maybe because im gonna have 2 babies as such or the fact it was only last year I gave birth. I was induced in my last pregnancy. I had a water birth and I went from 7cm to holding baby in 11 mins!!!!! Shock yes it was quick but was a very scary intense experience and it even shocked the MW as they told me not to push but she was already in the pool before she ended her sentence.
I am getting a lot of MW talking to me now about rapid spontaneous labour and im concerned im gonna give birth infront of my 3 kids. I have been having tightenings already and just worry I will think its just Braxton hix and not the real deal. sorry for the rant and moan.
Is anyone else feeling anxious?

yup! i have ds1 and 2 who are 7 and 5, and dd who is 4...
ive got 11 1/2 weeks left. starting to become more real now but i think thats cos i have them all off school (summer hols), so ive been thinking more about the practicalities of having 4. im lucky that theyll all be in full time school sept, and that i drive.
whereas i had my 3 dcs close together (they were all under 5 once) before. ive got a much bigger age gap this time- 4 1/2 years- so im hoping that makes the difference x

im very nervous! i have 4dc already due to give birth to dc5 in january, mine are ds 6y dd 5y dd4y and ds 9months my youngest will be 14 months when i have this one. i also have fast labours although had emcs with ds1 but all the others were natural and very fast.

I'm only have two DC, but I did have a v fast labour with number 2. I'd planned a home birth (just as well) but there wasn't enough time for DH to take DC1 to friends (or for them to collect him). DS1 ended up with DH at the birth. The midwife told DH to stay at my head and I told DH to explain (quickly!! - baby was crowning) to DS1 that his sister was coming, I was fine and not to be afraid. It worked well.

Just adding that because perhaps if you have a plan for what you want to happen with DC if everything goes quickly this time (whether you want them to witness it or not) then it would help you to feel more in control and less stressed.

Good luck!

Yes I am nervous but that is partly due to the gap I have. My older 3 will be almost 15, 13 and 9.5. My 3rd was also born flat and blue and needed a lot of help to get him breathing. So yes, a bit scared if I'm honest.

Do you have a nice midwife? I don't want to seem patronising having never gone through that, so please forgive me if I do. Would you be able to talk to her about it and run through a "what if" scenario with her and see what advice she offers? Maybe have DH prepped on what to do if it all happens fast to help alleviate some, not all, of the stress?

I guess I'm saying what are the things stressing you and what are the things that could help to ease it. Nothing will make it disappear until you see the baby, I'm sure, but perhaps there are small things that could help you relax - which will help in the labour/delivery anyway?

I had a similar experience to you with DS3 Sambrads after they inserted a prostaglandin pessary to get things moving!

I was supposed to be induced but went into labour naturally more than 2 weeks early. But everything stopped so they decided to put the pessary in. The contractions started again immediately and I can remember the mw doing an internal and saying I was 4 cms and me saying 'but I'm ready to push!'

She just laughed but I was so insistent that 5 minutes later she examined me again and said 'oh my god you're fully dilated!' It was that quick.

Now pg with Number 4 and really don't know what to expect. I had long labours with DS1 and 2 (20 hours and 17 hours). Don't know if the super fast labour was due to the pessary or if I can expect it to happen naturally next time, so like you I will be a tad anxious when the time comes!

Sorry not very useful last post really on reflection but do understand how you feel even though I can't offer any good advice. Really hope it goes okay.

hey ladies thanks for all the replies glad im not the only one feeling anxious. Have the hospital this week so gonna discuss my concerns with the consultant and see what they say. I do have good support around me but fear I might never get anyone round in time lol.
Is anyone having really sharp like stitch pains in their side? It happens at night and I could cry trying to get out of bed.
