Did anybody get pregnant when OH has low sperm count?

TTC question, been trying for over a year and DHs sperm test showed low sperm, worried this may stop us conceiving. Would love to hear any success stories, thanks

I can't remember what the figures were but dp had poor morphology (eg most of the little swimmers had no head/no tail/were random mutants). We ttc dd for 18 months - actually found out I was pg just before dp got his results. Ttc no 2 for 7 months, miscarried, then ttc current pg for just 2 months. I don't know if dp's sperm got better or if we just got lucky. 3rd time I used ovulation predictor kits and I'm sure that helped a lot. Good luck with your journey - I know lots of ivf (and adoption) success stories too if it comes to that.

Me and partner got our first ever bfp after 2 and a half yrs due to low sperm, along time was very stressful/depressing but weve finally got there so dont give up :-) xx

Yep! 20+3 today. Took a couple of years but we got here eventually . Still 20 weeks to go though,so I'm not counting my chickens just yet.
Stress at work had a lot to do with the delay as well. Was signed off at the start of March and preggo by the end of March. Good luck and keep shagging when you want to not just when you need to. Thanks

When I was ttc'ing, I think someone else on one of the boards mentioned her DP had low sperm count but had increased it through diet/lifestyle so I remember thinking that it can change (it was female factor with me). Lots of luck, took us 15 months and I remember how hard it was Flowers

Thank you for your stories, it's just so hard. Today especially, first day of the 15th period I never wanted!

I had to have IVF/ICSI to have dc1 then a few months after the birth I was pregnant naturally with DC2! A very welcome surprise! He had lw count nd they didn't swim. Good luck!

Yes! DP had poor morphology and it took 10 months to conceive, which sadly ended in mc. We found out I was pregnant this time the same week we were booked for IUI Smile, which was 6 months later. He was advised to take vitamin C and we had some pretty strict rules about when we should DTD. Like DIY we used OPKs and I also had a fertility monitor. Tried temping, but it turned me into a crazy lady so stopped! Good luck Flowers

I was indeed :) Felt like I'd been ttc forever, so I know how you feel after a year.

Bunnygirlie · 13/08/2013 20:46

It'll happen, but it is so disheartening waiting for it Flowers. I think it took me 17 cycles in the end.
I'm good thanks - nearly halfway there so fingers crossed it carries on so well. Predictably, I've been cock-out crazy with anxiety but it is easing off now.
I've got everything crossed for you for this month :)

my sis has this problem, her dh has low sperm count and shes been actively trying for a few years. she did get preg a few times but shes miscarried cos of her sticky blood, thyroid and low progesterone issues x
