Don't know if it's bormal but I can't do up my trousers and I'm 7weeks on second pg. I also feel very pregnant!

notnowbernard · 11/08/2013 21:19

Yep

I got totally para that it was twins on my 3rd pg

Did normalise by mid trimester though iirc

thatwasadaftidea · 11/08/2013 21:20

i probably don't 'look' pregnant, but i'm definitely feeling more uncomfortable and undoing my trousers in the car and in the evening.
so weird.

yes twins is one of the concerns here. i tried on maternity jeans today and was audibly sighing at how much more comfortable they were.

so surely the foetus is still small so what is bulking me up? fluid? my ginormous uterus?

on third pregnancy here and I am currently 18 weeks tomorrow. I dug out some old pictures and I look the same now as I did at 27 weeks with my second!! :( I think I was very bloated for the first trimester, then my bump disappeared and then came back with avengeance.

Romily · 11/08/2013 22:17

I am only my second pregnancy and I started to show at about 6 weeks. Only one baby, I am guessing it was a combination of my muscles giving in and bloating.

2Labradors · 11/08/2013 22:25

I think I posted something similar at 6 weeks pregnant. I was fully in my maternity work trousers by 11 weeks. This is also my 3rd.

I'm now 24 weeks & tried my maternity jeans on this morning (was a bit cooler today) and they're too tight on my bump! People have looked at me in shock when I declare I'm not due until November.

thatwasadaftidea · 12/08/2013 00:00

I just found your thread 2labradors. Yes all sounds exactly the same.
I do have IBS too, so wonder if it's connected.

My youngest is 6, and I can't remember feeling this way with either of the other two.

I'm the same. 13+4 with second baby, had a bump by 5 weeks (which I was politely told was bloat), and have been in maternity jeans since 11 weeks. Bump now looks about six months along. People's jaws visibly drop when I say I'm not due till Feb!

Apparently it is indeed tummy muscles going slack combined with bloat. Looks like a baby bump though Smile

shelley72 · 12/08/2013 13:20

I remember posting about this when I was about the same stage with my third. Just looked a bit podgy. By the end of the pregnancy I looked about the same size as the previous pregnancies. Bump certainly no bigger. Good luck with the pregnancy!

cakeandcustard · 12/08/2013 13:33

I'm 19+5 with DC3 but have been in maternity clothes since about 9 weeks and at this stage I swear I look about 7 months gone. The wake up call came at the 12 week scan when the sonographer had to push the scanner quite hard low down into my pelvic area to get a picture & I realised none of my enormous stomach was actually the baby!

thatwasadaftidea · 12/08/2013 21:05

i'm convinced people can tell but they probably just think i'm gaining weight.

Ist baby - still in my jeans at 6 months
2nd baby ...out of jeans a but sooner, but still just a nice neat bump
3rd baby ....ship in full sail Shock
From about the minute I knew I was pregnant, I expanded like a whale Confused
From 6 months, the bump went round the corner first Sad

On the upside..... everything shrank back, and figure went back as well as with the first two, so its not permanent. Just disconcerting.

thatwasadaftidea · 12/08/2013 22:18

i swear somebody at work was looking at my tummy today.

Same here... Midwife told me it's because all my insides know what to do and have already moved up out of the way! Lol. I'm humongous for 20 weeks.

quickdowntonson · 13/08/2013 10:03

Me too - i'm 9 weeks and already feel enormous.

I read somewhere that it's just bloating of the stomach caused by the slowing down of the digestion system. Same reason that constipation is often a problem in early pregnancy.
Anyone else heard of this?
Congratulations, BTW xx

mamamidwife · 13/08/2013 10:09

Probably bloating/ water retention The joys of pregnancy Smile

BlackholesAndRevelations · 14/08/2013 20:52

I've heard the digestive system slows down so that your body can get max nutrients from your food. True or a load of rubbish?!

BrianButterfield · 16/08/2013 21:35

I heard that too! This is DC2 and my boss guessed at six weeks! I haven't got that big since though (although I feel it).
