Could I be pregnant, long story

Hey all,
Long story short - I had breast cancer at 28 I am now 34. I had zoladex and tamoxifen for 5 years and finished these approx 1 year ago. My periods never returned but after blood tests and scans my ovaries showed to be working just fine. I had 8 sessions of acupuncture to try to force a period. But one never arrived.
Anyway... Three weeks ago today we had sex, a few days later I started having head aches and went quite light headed a few times, my nipples felt very tender and my boobs started to ache. My boobs are still very tender, look swollen and I have noticed some big blue veins. I have done some home pregnancy test which say negative but I am not sure if it is too early.
I,m trying not to get my hopes up but all the signs are pointing in the right direction. My hormones have been mucked around so much by meds so it could also suggest a massive period is on its way.
We were desperate for a baby before breast cancer struck and am hoping periods would return so we would have a better chance. I have been told by docs you can still conceive even without periods.
Thanks in advance.

It is possible but only way to find out is do a test. Try a clear blue digital or first response as they pick up quite early.
Good luck and hope u get what u want xxx

hi mandy. like wise there is only really one way to know for sure, give it a few days and test again. but I just wanted to share with you that I had mouth cancer 3 years ago at 23, like you I was pumped full of chemotherapy drugs and eventually made a recovery. it took a long time for my periods to return and then they were very irregular, but I am now 32 weeks pregnant with my first baby. my consultant is made up as he wasn't sure it would happen for me. anyway, I just wanted to share that with you as I couldnt find anyone who had gotten pregnant after chemo. but it can happen.
wishing you well and lots of luck!! xx

Congratulations roofio87 that is fantastic news. I too was told I would probably never have another child due to chemo. But ovaries are strong and happy according to scans so finger crossed xxx

yes definitely hope there. even though it having an effect on your fertility would be very hard to deal with, having cancer definitely teaches you to take everything in your stride and be very grateful for your everything that you do have!!
