Clicking baby belly 39wks!

For a few weeks I thought I was imagining it but the more near to due date I get the surer I am. My baby is clicking inside my belly and I can hear it quite clearly, what is it? I was freaked out but now I quite like it. Is it the baby's bones clicking or just the sound of him/her moving against ltd space inside my belly? I haven't shared this with anyone so I hope I'm not alone and that it's not overly weird!

I'm sure it's something to do with the amniotic fluid?

Do you think? It defo doesn't sound like liquidy movements. It's like the noise if you click your nails together.

My bumps have all done this (I know the exact sound you mean) and no doctor/midwife/sonographer has come up with a consistent reason!

I've heard "bones cracking", "air bubbles popping" but nobody seems to know for sure.

My bumps have all done this, too! Here is the pretty much standard conversation:

Me: my baby clicks! Can you tell me what it is, please?

Midwife: Confused

Me: Honestly, I hear it all the time, like snapping your fingers under water? Is it the baby's joints do you think?

Midwife: Hmm

Me: No, seriously. It...clicks...?

Midwife: ...

Me: Confused

Midwife: So, anyway, did you bring a wee sample?

It's a conspiracy!

I've had this since about 26 weeks and everyone apart from hubby just thinks im crazy.. it really does sound like when someone cracks there knuckles .ironically only seems to happen when im alone though, hubby has probably heard it about three times. Its always when the baby moves too.

Cool, I feel so much better now that I know it's not totally weird. Told my dh and his face was a picture! I think he was ready to run me up to A&E there and then. Bless him, he's beginning to lose it as he's realised there is something coming that he cannot control! Anyway thank u all clicking belly mummas. Hope the rest of ur pregnancies go well. I am ready now for dc to arrive. Getting a liiiiiiiitle bit fed up now Grin .
