My (first) baby is breech AND back to back... and has been for a number of weeks now... they're looking at potential planned cs at 39 wks (which I really don't want)... and I def don't want them attempting manual turning... so I am hoping he will turn himself but it's not looking great so far...

Does this mean I am def looking at a cs birth rather than natural? And if I am lucky enough to go naturally is it likely going to be horrendous and requiring all sorts of intervention (forceps et al)...????

stressed and emotional :'(

Thanks for reading...!!!

I had a breech at 33 weeks, but he turned and was born head first at 41 weeks.

I am probably out of date , but in my day they would reassess at 36 weeks.

I think they tend to mention the possibility of a CS at the 30+ week stage to give you a chance to get your head round it.

Spend all the time that you can on your hands and knees, with your front half lowered to the ground (on your folded arms, butt ahoy). My midwife recommended that and both of mine were 'late turners'. Worked within 10 days for both. I'm sure you'll find some web stuff about the same. Good luck.

Plus, the evidence I read at the time (7 years ago) was that there was no good reason to not vaginally deliver a breech, but that may have changed.

My first was breech and back to back at 34 weeks and stayed that way until I was 38 weeks when she finally got into the head down position, however she was still back to back through labour.

I was transverse at 34 weeks, transverse but the other way up at 34 +1, breech at 36, right way up but back to back at last week and right way up but sideways today (38+2)- and did a few big movements whilst midwife was here. Don't know what point I'm trying to make but there is still room for movement ...
