The other day I had pain in my tummy all day, when I went to bed I didn't have any movement. The next day I didn't have any pain but he wasn't moving, I had a couple of wriggles but they were very weak and not as regular. We called the hospital anyway on the night and they told us to go in, I did a wee sample and it came back I had an infection.

Anyway, to try and cut a long story short they said they think its the start of a water infection and have put me on antibiotics. I had the midwife out the next day and I asked her how long should I leave baby (if he goes quite again) before I should be concerned. She said give it until lunch time, try drinking cold water again and if he still hasn't picked up by the evening ring up.

Well this morning, really bazaar but I had a dream I was shouting at somebody, and I ran to oh because my stomach was hurting and I woke up in pain :(

Now I know its still early but I haven't had much movement so I'm dreading its going to be another night in hospital. I had pain last night when I went to bed and told oh I knew this would happen, but I had movement throughout the night.

The reason I'm unsure if its just his routine is because before I went into hospital, a few days before, he went quite on the night which is unlike him, I said to oh I'll give it until morning and if he doesn't move I'll ring in, but around 9-10am he got very active, so I put it off. I only rang in the other because I was in pain.

Not really sure why I'm writing this because I know what I need to do, I guess I just know its going to be like last time, he'll pick up as soon as I get to the hospital! and then I'll feel like I've wasted their time, but I couldn't bare not having him seen by the midwifes in case something was wrong.

If it is a change in his movements then u should ring. Any change should be checked out.
Sure everything is fine but always better to be safe xx

Have you tried having something sweet (like a bowl of ice cream and a can of something fizzy) and lying down for half an hour? This was the advice from the midwives at our hospital if you thought that you hadn't felt movement for a bit. Of course, if you feel something is very wrong, disregard and go straight to A& E!

Midwives will tell you that they would much rather you 'wasted their time' than missed a genuine problem. Please go in and don't worry about the midwives, that's what they're there for!

My midwife told me off because I had palpitations the evening before a midwife appointment and waited for the appointment to mention it instead of phoning up straight away.

Well posting this seemed to have worked. He started kicking about 5 mins after I posted.

I was just worried because he wasn't very active this morning, and I woke up in a little pain.

I feel really achy down there but I'm wondering if that's just to do with the infection that's making me feel shit.
