Second baby question

Hey everybody I'm now 39 wks 2 with second baby . With my first I was 2 weeks early labour started naturally . With this prgnancy baby still hasn't engaged and still feels very high. Midwife said at last app that baby was sitting on the brim . Is this normal. Does that mean it could be ages before anything happens .

I was similar with my 2, 3 weeks early with 1st then 2nd was 3 days overdue. With 2nd & subsequent babies the head doesn't always engage until labour starts. So it doesn't mean you're ages off but it could also be another couple of weeks, who knows! Sorry, not that helpful! Good luck!

Ah thanks I've been trying to do everything to bring labour on :)

I take it could mean labour could start at anytime could be Tom or in 2 weeks time

Yep could be any time. I tried it all, raspberry leaf capsules, hot curries, pineapple etc but nothing worked. They just come when they're ready. Plan something really important into your diary that you really wouldn't want to miss...a sure fire way to bring on labour! Wink

I was engaged 3/5 engaged at 38 weeks with my second. He ended up being 13 days late!

My first was bang on the due date, second a week late and only got going after a sweep. The last weeks are hard. You'll have a baby soon though whatever. Good luck!

My second didn't engage before labour. And the considerate boy came a week early in just three hours. I would say bless him, but five months on the little bugger still doesn't sleep.

I started a thread about going overdue with 2nd babies (due to having been induced with my first) mix or responses some 2nd babies arrived earlier, others were just as late as the first. I've added 12days onto my due date when people ask, and in my head I'm aiming for that date. I can't face the 'any news' texts again. If they arrive earlier its a bonus! Hope you're not in for the long haul. Good luck

Yeah it's very frustrating when everybody u see asks how long now or they say u still haven't went !!

I've marked my own little countdown so even if I have to wait an extra 2 weeks I've only got max 19 days until the 42 wks
