shoulder pain - muscular?

Hi everyone

I'm somewhat of a worrier and this pg is proving to be no different. I've had really sore muscles all over for a few days now. Mainly in neck and thighs and bum. Put it down to sleeping on a dodgy mattress on holiday and general exhaustion. I've not been sleeping well and wake stiff every morning.

Today the pain has spread to my shoulder and of course I'm freaking out about ectopic. I have NO other symptoms so just wondered if anyone could describe what ectopic shoulder pain feels like? Its not bad enough to take painkillers for, it is at the tip of my shoulder but not really the top - more to the front and more the top of my arm than in my shoulder. It only hurts when I lift my arm or twist my arm in its socket - which makes me think its muscular. But I know shoulder pain in early pg should be taken seriously so I thought I'd ask. I imagine that ectopic shoulder pain would be sharp and piercing, almost like trapped wind, but of course that is totally unfounded and I have no real idea what it would be like.

DH tells me I'm being stupid and I'm not convinced it's worth a trip to A&E.

What do you think?
And also could the general achy muscles be anything to do with pg?
Thank you all

I've had an ectopic. Also a miscarriage, and 3 normal deliveries. The only thing I know nowt about is c sections!
Firstly, how many weeks pregnant are you? Most ectopics are diagnosed before 8 weeks (mine was 9 weeks but that's unusual).
Have you any bleeding? Spotting?
I had brown spotting but nothing else. No pain, no cramping.
Ring your GP, explain symptoms. The usual course is to test HCG levels, which should double every 48 hours in initial stages of preg. If nothing seen on ultrasound scan but hcg levels still doubling then it is something that needs monitoring.
Shoulder tip pain is more common, due to blood loss pushing up diaphragm, and placing pressure on shoulder.
Ring your doctor.

How many weeks are you op?

I'm 6weeks. Sorry I forgot to say that.

I feel better this morning and am more certain it's muscular bit there are still twinges so I will phone my gp if it gets any worse.
No bleeding, cramps etc.

Thank you
