If you were induced purely because you were overdue were you also induced with DC2?

I was 40+12 with DC 1 and when induced I had a bishops score of 0 or 1 - can't remember, but essentially I was no where near labour. The induction went well and DD was safely delivered without complication. Now pregnant with DC2 and wanted to gauge whether others had a similar experience and went on to go into labour without being induced with the 2nd. Is there any hope? I think I've resigned myself to expect to go over again....

3x Ds. All induced, all healthy and happy.

I was induced with ds at 40+12 and a bishops of 2. I didn't get a single contraction in two days and ended up with a cs.

I will not let them try to induce me again, completely pointless exercise in my case, and painful with all thefanjo foraging.

Induced at 42 weeks with ds1, ds2 arrived at 38 weeks and 6 days (fast spontaneous labour) and ds3 at 40 weeks sand 3 days (even faster spontaneous labour)

No, induced + 13 with DS1, DS2 came on 40+9 day after a sweep :)

DS1 - induced at 40+14, emcs. DS2 - elcs at 39 weeks due to irritable uterus/spd. But they discovered during the cs that he was so tangled in the cord that he was suspended high in my abdomen and would probably never have descended enough to start labour!

Ok so a couple of positive stories to hold on to! I know the baby will come when it's ready, but boy did those 12 extra days feel loooong. Good luck to anyone due soon! Let me know how you got on.

I was induced at 40+16 with dd1

With dd2 I had a sweep at 40+10 and she arrived that night.

was induced at 40+14 with ds1, ds2 cane naturally ( and quite quick) at 40+11

Induced with DC 1&2 at 40+14, DC3 came at 40+10 aided by castor oil. I really do not recommend or advocate this though

Induced at 40+3 with my first after stalled labour.

Currently 37+5 and am contracting and having show now. Being induced this week if its a false start as have mild Pre-E this time.

yes induced with both DS's at 40+12. Both very quick and quite good labours, DS2 better than DS1! Oh and both ventouse

Nope. Dc2 (my DS) was born a few hours after his due date in the early hours. I was in labour (naturally) on my edd. I was about 10 days overdue with dd I think and induced.

Sorry to say but I was induce dfor being overdue with all five!

I went to three weeks over with ds3 and still he didn't want to come out!

But my inductions were fine, with no 1 it took three days.

No 2 took 7 hrs they just broke my waters, normal active labor.

No 3 took 3 he's again they broke my waters normal active labor.

No 4 took under one hour! Again they broke my waters and I had him in birth pool.

No 5 took 3 he's as well once it got going, unfortunately breaking my waters didn't work and I needed the drip bit it was still a normal active labor with just gas and air :) madame was back to back so I think that was partly why I needed the drip.

I am slightly odd in that I am allergic to the gel they use to induce you so had to just have my waters broken.

Just FYI - an hour after that post, my waters broke! I had my son in the triage area... Oops!
