When will I start feeling movement?

I'm 16+6 and it's my first baby. I haven't felt anything so far. When will I be able to feel proper movements as opposed to 'ooh was that the baby?... oh no just wind'?

I was sure I felt baby at 18/19 weeks but my sister more like 22 weeks. It depends how slim you are! And although its lovely by 35 weeks you'll be kicked to death at 3 am and like it less!

Congratulations!

It varies from person to person and also depends on where the placenta is which you find out at the 20 week scan.

I felt kicks from 16 weeks but I'm tiny in build and my placenta is at the back. Now at 24 weeks I feel kicks and wriggles all the time which is nice Smile

If you are bigger in build and/or your placenta is at the front you may not feel movements until after 20 weeks.

Hope they start soon for you - it's great when you can feel/see movements Smile

I'm also very slim, not sure where my placenta is though, they didn't mention it at the 12 weeks scan. I keep thinking I can feel tiny flutters but I'm not sure, it's quite possibly just wishful thinking.

I'm wondering the same Madratlady, I'm 17wks nearly 18 and am not sure if it's the baby or just wind or what! I've been panicking about being a crap mum already (before it's even arrived!) because what if I don't notice those first flutters?! Blush

So if I've not felt it at 20 weeks, the scan should show if its the position of the placenta? Hopefully I'll have bucked-up by then and have distinguished a baby wiggle from a fart.

I'm also slim, and 16+1. Nothing yet!
