new to antenatal fitness - is yoga/pilates for me?

Hi all

I am on my second pregnancy, 19 weeks in. I didn't do any 'official' exercise before pregnancy, just walking from A to B and chasing a 2 y o. I quite fancy doing a bit to help with labour but can only see ante natal classes for yoga and pilates. I've never done either before and I'm the least flexible person ever. Is it for me?

Alternatively, any good DVDs out there for people with low fitness level?

BTW I'm based in North Bristol if anyone wants to recommend classes.

cheers

The Davina pregnancy exercise dvd is quite nice, not too strenuous, just sort of gets you moving. I would recommend that.

Try www.birthlight.co.uk/ for more classes.

Maybe you could go to one yoga or pilates class on a trial basis? I made some really good friends through ante-natal yoga, and found the relaxation and 'me' time most valuable.

thanks both. I might try a class if I find one that's convenient but in the meantime I have ordered the Davina DVD - sounds just right.
