We're still thinking about a name for our baby who is going to be born in September.

We've got about 5 names.
We have some special people in our lives and we want to give the baby some of their names.

Does anyone know how many names can you maximal give to your newborn?

As many as the registrar will allow

I would think you can give as many as you wish though most people stick with a first name plus one or two middle names then the surname.

Do you plan having more children? If so you could save some of the names for future dc?

As love being said, as many as you can get in there :) there's stories in the papers occasionally of people with the full rangers team from '78 or every grand prix winner ever etc so 5 names that are actually special to you I think would be fine. Just be sure you want to use them up in one go - you may have another dc and like to use one or more of the names on that one too.

Thanks ladies.

This is our 4th child and we think there won't be any more children. But we're young parents and we don't want to take any drastic measures to make 100% sure there won't be another child.

Just in case we change our minds.

Thanks for the information. It's so hard to think of a good name. We were thinking for a first name: George

But now that the little prince has got that name. We're not that sure if we need to use the same name. So many people might start to call their boys George now.

Not that long time ago someone asked me if I already had a name. I said we were thinking of George. Her response:
After the prince?

me:
No, a very close and special friend of us died just before this pregnancy. His first name was George.

I don't want to have to say that all the time.

After George we were thinking of:
Donald (grandfather), Peter (another special person), Horatio (We just like that name, no special reason there) or instead of Horatio, Isildur. But I really like that name, my partner doesn't really like it.

My partner asked today if we could also give the baby one of his names. So things will change.....

I really want to give him a nice name. But which one???

anyone else with name troubles?

Im.23weeks pg and our baby has 4 names. Well. First, 2 middle and then surname. Entirely upto u :D x

chillisbopper · 07/08/2013 03:05

I totally get what you mean about the name George, it's my DHs grandfathers name and since we are pg with our first (a boy) we thought about it but I think it probably will be quite a popular name now so I am no longer as keen. Although I think it was an excellent choice for the young prince Smile.

We are still going through names, loving one for a few weeks then going off of it lol. We thought about 2 middle names though as the name we like as a first name is only short..

Pain in the bum when they are 16/18 and have to write their huge long name on their exam papers.

Rosenip · 08/08/2013 11:02

Had a friend who had a few middle names and changed it by dead-poll he found it so frustrating. Think of your child.

FrussoHathor · 08/08/2013 12:49

Mine don't have any middle names
