my sister is nearly 8 months pregnant with her third child but has been getting pains in her chest on the top and bottom of her bump and its hard for her to breath.
shes also had a lot of problem with heavy bleeding a couple of time she has gone to hospital as she was has been leaking water for about 2 weeks midwifes told her to go straight in
was wondering if anyone has ever expeienced the pains/breathlessness/leaking before to give my mum some reassurance.

pains/breathelessness - a friend of mine got this TERRIBLY because she had pulled a muscle in her ribcage - quite common apparently because it is all being yanked around a lot with the baby

She was in a lot of pain! but no harm at all to baby

In this heat I would imagine breathlessness is VERY common this late on

is she in hospital now?

I have no advice, but wanted to bump your post, m2j. Hope all is well with your sis.

I was v breathless at this stage with my 3rd. I think it was because I was anaemic. Hope your sister is ok.

I had something like this with ds2, it turned out he was pushing up and down at the same time which was crushing my lungs (hard to breath), and where he was stretching so much he was causing the skin to stretch and it was so painful all over the bump! (i wouldn't wish it on anyone) And ds2 was a long baby! As for the bleeding, not to sure, but the leeking could be the baby pushing on her bladder!

I hope your sister is doing well, and the baby will make an apperance safely soon!Smile

Wish her luck from!Smile

I had exactly the same thing....baby was fine and so I put it down to some sort of braxton hicks although very different to labour. the breathing the same as your sisters too. I though BH because it was periodical

hi been meaning to update this well the hospital have said the pain/breathlessness leaking water is due to the baby being so big she is pushing for room aslo have said its the second time shes had sugar and protein in urine and advised her to try and get herself started off when shes 35 weeks which is next week.
as i will be having my baby in same hospital am shocked to learn theres no special care baby unit anymore its a new maternity hospital built in place off the old one nearest scbu is northampton the rest of tjhe new hospital opens next month so maybe there will be one then.
