I did this. Found out at 20 week scan it was a boy but in my head there was always a doubt. We had another scan around 34 weeks and it was so obvious it was a boy. I think though until you have the baby there will always be doubt.

of course no scan is 100%, but I would say it's very rare for sonographers to get the sex wrong, esp if you found out at the 20 week scan or after.

There is more room for error with girls than boys for obvious reasons BUT, it's still rare for them to make a mistake. I'm sure there will be ppl posting on this thread telling you all sorts of stories of how they sonographeer got the sex wrong etc, and of course it's a possibility, but i would say it's very rare, an percentage of over 80% is almost a dead cert and just relax and look forward to your little girl arriving.

A cautionary tale.

ExtremeCouponQueen · 07/08/2013 08:59

haha i told you someone would come on here with tales of how sonographers get things wrong, but honestly don't worry. It's very unlikely they will have got the gender wrong, ESP at 20+ weeks, and with a percentage of 95% as well.

Just relax and look forward to your baby girl arriving.

How exciting! I'm sure it'll be fine, just don't take the tags off anything. Wink

I'm having a discussion about thy story on Facebook at the moment, obviously I'm in the wrong because we found out with both my children and there's no need to ever find out. Hmm

I hate it when people who don't find out the sex get all judgemental about those who do. Like you've ruined something by finding out...yeah because the birth of my children is really mundane just because I know the sex.
