Will my feet go back to normal?

Just wondering if all my old shoes will ever fit again? Gone from a size 6 to 7 and could live without expense of having to replace all my shoes! Angry

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but after DD my feet stayed a size bigger (6).

However, after DS1 they went back down again (!) to a size 5.

I've just had DS2 and my feet are an awkward 5.5!
So if you want to fit your old shoes, have two DC! Wink

With my dd I have very swollen feet & ankles (cankles)! Towards the end if pregnancy could only wear trainers with no laces!!! Confused (Not a good look)! & it took about 4 weeks after her birth for them to go back to normal!!

I thought it would be instant but it wasn't!! Didn't have the same problem with dd2 or ds though!! Grin

Mine went from 5 to 7, then gradually shrunk down to a 6. DS is 2.5 and they have stayed at a 6, doubt if they will ever go smaller now.

Mine returned to normal.
Ds 1 was born in the middle of the night and when I got up next morning to go for a shower the first thing I checked was my ankles. They looked like ankles again. I put my shoes on and they fitted again!
Same with DS2.
I went back to being a size 5.

Nope. Mine have been a size 5 since I was 11..and went up (and stayed) at a size 6.

I now own 2 pairs of shoes.

(and have a wardrobe full of gorgeous size 5's I can't get into!)

I was a size 4 shoe before I had children, now a size 5 I had to chuck loads of shoes :(

Reading this fills me with fear. My feet are already size 10, I can't have size 11 feet!

BucketsnSpades · 04/08/2013 16:00

Mine swelled up to huge proportions with water retention, they are now exactly the same size as they were pre pregnancy, however, in my case the swelling was a symptom of pre eclampsia so don't ignore it, mention it to your midwife if only to be on the safe side.

So a mixed response! Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones as although my shoe collection isn't one to be envious of I kinda like what I have! I told doc about swelling and was just told it's normal and heat isn't helping either, she didn't seem that concerned.

No, I had troll feet at the end ( pre-eclampsia) but they have stayed a size larger. Had to throw away all my shoes and start again.

Thyeternalsummer · 04/08/2013 16:46

Eek! I've just bought winter boots in my usual size 36 without even thinking my swollen feet wouldn't go back go normal Shock Been living in flip flops the last couple of weeks, but have noticed my shoes feeling uncomfortably tight on the few occasions I've worn proper footwear. I just assumed though that they'd go back to normal once I'd had the baby and started losing the excess weight/fluid.

Genuinely alarmed now! Hmm

Procrastinating · 04/08/2013 16:53

Mine didn't. I had size 7 feet, 3 babies later (I had pre-eclampsia too) they are size 9. I can't buy anything in normal shoe shops.

CitrusyOne · 04/08/2013 16:57

No. Mine too went from a 5 to a 6. Wardrobe full of shoes that don't fit and I now have about four pairs that do.

Looks like I'll be having a 'boot sale' ha! Sorry, the tiredness impacting my humour. Well I guess I'll be requesting new shoes for Christmas then.
