So I have just come home after spending 5 days in hospital and I am looking for some reassurance.

I was taken in on Tuesday after having pains from Monday night which were getting stronger and closer together. They ended up being 5 mins apart and very painful.

After lots of painkillers and complete bed rest for a few days they have eased off and I have been allowed to come home but told that if they start again I have to go straight back to the hospital as I could end up in early labour.

I am so scared and it has been the most worrying week of my life as I was terrified my little princess was going to come too early. Sorry I should have said I am only 24 weeks pregnant.

And now I am wondering if anyone else has had contractions early on and managed to go on to have a full term healthy baby??

I am so scared that I am doing something wrong or my little angel is going to come early I just can't stop worrying and stressing over it. I have been signed off work and told that I have to rest which I am doing but I'm still scared.

Sorry for the long post but just needed to hear some positive stories or any advice people have to help me keep my princess safe.

Thanks in advance xxx

Hey, just to say I had really bad tightenings and needed steroid injections and uterine relaxants at 30 weeks - and now I'm 40 weeks today and can't wait for the little blighter to come. Midwife in the CLU said she often saw women come in early with contractions, and then saw the same women come in overdue at 42 weeks for an induction etc. So, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll have your baby prematurely.

Thanks Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I don't have any experience as this is my first pregnancy and i'm only 10 weeks but i didn't want to read and run - just thought i'd say i hope it all works out for you - i'm sure someone with experience will comment soon x

I've had early contractions in this pregnancy (at 25 weeks) and am 39 weeks today. Hope all goes well for you Flowers

Thanks I was terrified at the time but trying to stay to calm and listen to what the doctors were telling me.
I normally work in a nursery but my doctors have told me I can't work there any more as it is too physical and I need to rest. So I am going to be on sick leave until I can start claiming my maternity allowance.
I just want my little princess to be ok and arrive safely. This is my first baby after two miscarriages and it has been a difficult pregnancy from the start with bleeding and other issues so this has just been the last straw for me and even tho I managed to keep it together in the hospital since I have been home all I want to do is cry and can't focus on anything!! I'm such a mess!! :-( xx

I've been having them since about 14 weeks. On daily progesterone, had steroid shots at 24 weeks, am now 30+4.

Mine were triggered initially they think by an undetected UTI, that's since one but I still get lots daily, sometimes 10 an hour.....

I'm still pregnantn( fingers crossed it stays that way) so there is hope.

Am keeping feet up at work and just dropped my hours to around 8 a day from 12/13..good luck.

Hi, I had contractions at 27 weeks pregnant which started whilst out walking the dog. Went to hospital where they done a fibronectin test ( unsure of correct spelling ) it came back positive so i was transferred to a different hospital by ambulance. Had steroid injections and was monitored. Contractions stopped and I was allowed home after a few days but on strict instructions to take it very easy. Had a few contractions here and there along the way but gave birth at 39 weeks. Was a scary time so understand how you feel. Will be thinking of you x
