Am I further than we think??

Hi I'm 5+1wks with DC2 and as I kept feeling weird sensations in my tummy I thought I'd just listen through my foetal heart monitor. I was very surprised to hear the same sounds I used to hear with my DS, but on a smaller scale. The sloshing and underwater sound. I know it's only the size of a poppy seed, or there abouts, so I'm just wondering if I'm further along than I think? Any opinions would be nice :-)

How sure are you about your dates. I'm now 14wks but since finding out I've always felt I must be further along at one stage even thought it must be twins it isn't but my dating scan pushed by due date a week ahead but this doesn't seem to fit with my period dates. I felt movements much earlier than before, this will be my third

I've been off the pill for a few months now but we used protection, apart from a couple times but it was way after ovulation. I've been having periods too. Should I go see my dr, or will I look a bit crazy? Lol

Thankyou for replying

I would mention it especially if you have any upcoming appointments they might send you for an early scan I'm sure it's nothing to worry about but at least they'd be able to confirm dates better. I'm past caring what doctors think about my questions we know ourselves better than they do and every pregnancy is so different. Smile

I'm not so much worried, just wondering why I can hear movements when it's really tiny and doesn't have limbs long enough to move. I made my husband put it on his tummy just to see if it was sounds from digestive system etc but his was quiet. Think I will tell my dr. Thankyou.

Is it the whooshing sounds of your own pulse? I heard that a lot early on with my doppler?

I asked the midwife and after she had told me off for using one (oops) she said it could be the whooshing of my blood I can hear. Made me feel a bit queasy :-/

I going to say it's probably the swooshing of your blood. Your body is very busy atm and you have a good blood supply to your uterus. It's easy to pick up with a monitor and sounds a lot like the swooshing of the baby moving in the waters later on.
