During my last pregnancy I had the classic morning sickness feeling pretty ropey for the first trimester. Everyone around me kept saying 'That's a good sign, means the baby is healthy'. Now I'm around 6 weeks pregnant with my second, but as yet have not had a single sicky feeling. Now I feel in a way I should count my lucky stars, BUT I can't help but worry if that saying is true - is it?

Morning sickness can be a good sign but that doesn't mean that no morning sickness is a bad sign. Didn't have any sickness with my DD. She weighed 9lb 1oz at birth and is a lovely healthy baby.

Every person is different and every pregnancy is different, so it's best not to read too much into anything like this.

Congratulations by the way!

One of my friends had awful morning sickness with her first but has sailed through her 2nd pregnancy with no problems at all. Both babies were very healthy

It could still arrive! I thought I was out of the woods at 6 weeks and then a couple of days later...WHAM!

I had absolutely not even a hint of morning sickness with DS. I was sick once throughout the whole pregnancy. He was born fine, healthy and right on time.

I had no morning sickness until week 7/8 which worried me a bit. Then I got morning sickness and wished I hadn't. Dd was lovely and healthy regardless of how I felt in the first trimester.

I had none with my son, and am now pg with dc2.... Keep getting told I'm having a girl as I'm so sick! It's all nonsense.... Don't listen!

Nothing with DS, in fact totally symptom free. Some nausea with this one, including a couple of really bad mornings. Have a strong feeling this one's a girl though, and there is a link between higher hcg and girls and higher hcg and morning sickness, and I happen to know I had very high hcg this time round.

none with my son.
a little bit with this one(a little baby girl).
son is very healthy and rarely sick.

total old wives tale.

DC1 - sickness for a week, all was fine
DC2 - no sickness at all, all was fine
Pg3 (mc) - no sickness but intense constant nausea
DC3 - 38w now - no sickness but again with 2 months of 24-7 nausea - all fine :)

I'm 34 weeks pregnant with my first. Been told i have a healthy growing baby, and NEVER suffered with any morning sickness! Old wives tale!
