Hi ladies,

I am 33+3 weeks and have been getting braxton hicks for weeks now. They don't bother me as I know they are normal........but what does bother me is everytime I get one I start to get very strong palpitations and sometimes slight pain in my chest. These seem to get worse as the braxton hicks get stronger.

I don't know whether to mention this to my midwife as I am a bit concerned that whilst my stomach is tightening it is doing something to me heart that could affect me more when I do go into labour and I am getting real contractions.

Anyone got any ideas what this could be......or advice on what to do please?

Thankyou Smile

Hiya, id defo mention this at your next Mw app, cud well be somthin and nothing but i dont recall getting palpitations with either of my previous two pregnancies/braxton hicks, did u get anything like this with your first?
Hopfully someone will come along with more idea about whats goin on but no question is a stupid question when it comes to yours and babies health and maybe the mw will do a simple ecg to put your mind at ease if nothing else. Theses can be done in the gp surgery and very easily so.

Hi lozza22 I suffer from mild anxiety anyway which can sometimes give me palpitations but are generally fine. With my first pregnancy I didn't suffer anything like this....hence my concern. I will definatly mention nxt week at my midwife appointment hopefully its nothing (fingers crossed).

Thankyou for your adivce Smile
