Hi Mums. I hope you can help me. I'm trying to help out my sister, who is six months pregnant, and is huge. (I have tactfully refrained from pointing this out. It's possible she is already aware of it, anyway). She has damaged muscles in her stomach from her first pregnancy, 8 years ago, and is also lugging about an adorable 11 month-old, whose extreme cuteness unfortunately doesn't appear to make her weightless.
So: what would be the best support belt/ harness type thing she (I) could buy? She has one of those giant tubeygrip things, but she says it just squashes her. I suggested she tried a wheelbarrow, but this idea was not received in the intended spirit. Help me get back in her good books as I am a sour, dried-up spinster who needs love from her nieces to stop her falling into a pit of despair made of gin and cigarettes.
Thank you all in advance.

I haven't got any personal recommendations as I'm only 16 weeks pregnant, but I've found quite a few 'bump supports' on Amazon. If no one wiser comes along you could look at the reviews on there?

I love the Blooming Marvellous ones from mothercare. I have intermittent back troubles, had spd last time round, and ended up with an EMCS, so I was worried about having difficulties this time. I've had little to no back pain all pregnancy. To go 6M without back troubles when I'm not pregnant is pretty good, so I'm impressed. I also fine it helps to sleep in as I can roll over much more easily without pulling my sides anymore. It is basically a giant tubi grip thing, but it supports around your hips and down your sides, with a thinner, stretchy bit for your bump to grown into.

MrsMangoBiscuit that one sounds brilliant and looks really nice too - I obviously didn't pay much attention to the site when ordering mine! I went for the maternity support belt www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Maternity-Support-Belt/220944,default,pd.html but I have to say I have absolutely no complaints about it at all either, it's lasted and washed really well. I've been wearing it since about 16 weeks (now 31+2) and it's been a lifesaver, was suffering from SPD and even then finding my bump ridiculously heavy to lug around, especially in the evenings. This belt thing has sorted me right out Smile.

And btw what a lovely sister you are, aaaarg Grin.
